“A Nightmare on Elm Street” is a classic horror film series that began with the original movie released in 1984. The film was directed by Wes Craven and introduced one of the most iconic horror villains in cinema history, Freddy Krueger.
Freddy Krueger is the central antagonist of the series. He is a supernatural serial killer who haunts the dreams of teenagers. In the story, Freddy was a child murderer who was burned to death by the parents of his victims. However, he returns in the dreams of their children to exact revenge, killing them in their sleep. If someone dies in their dream because of Freddy, they die in real life as well.
The success of the original film led to numerous sequels, a television series, comic books, and a remake in 2010. Freddy Krueger, portrayed by actor Robert Englund in the original films, became a cultural icon known for his burned face, razor-gloved hand, and dark sense of humor.
The franchise is known for its imaginative and often terrifying dream sequences, where the lines between reality and nightmare blur, making it a staple of the horror genre.
