unless they have 3 things:

1️⃣ Clear takeaway on each slide
2️⃣ All boxes + texts are aligned
3️⃣ Graphs are easy to understand (the 5 second rule)

✦ Visualize Data like a Biz Analyst (Lesson 5 of 20)

When I became a Biz Analyst at Spotify, these are the 3 Data Visualization rules I learned:

01 | The Call-out Box (0:18) – Put the insight directly on the graph so it tells the story fast.

02 | Color Focus (0:21) – Use gray for historical data, and bright/bold color for current data to help people focus on the ‘now’.

03 | Structured Titling (0:26) – Name your chart title [Y-Axis] by [X-Axis] so it’s easy to understand

↳ Lesson 5: Lean into your differences! Extroverts talk to think, but introverts think to talk. If you’re quiet, show them your perspective instead!

我發現好的簡報都有這 3 個「數據視覺化」規則：

01 | 提示框 (0:18) – 直接在圖表上標註洞察，讓圖表自己快速說故事。

02 | 顏色運用 (0:21) – 用灰色淡化過去的數據，並用鮮艷/對比色標示現在的數據，引導觀眾專注於「當下」。

03 | 標題結構 (0:26) – 用 「Y 軸 by X 軸」 來命名圖表標題，讓內容一目了然（尤其當一份簡報有超過 10 張圖表時）。

when I was a biz analyst at Spotify, I once spent weeks on an analysis that went in the completely wrong direction.
a senior analyst told me: share your thinking before you build anything.

she called it the -Learning Agenda-

it’s a simple Google doc that frames your analysis with strategic questions. for each question, it should answer the following

* Question — what are you trying to answer?
* Data — how would you measure it?
* Biz Objective — how does it tie back to what the business actually cares about?

share it before you touch the data!
get feedback on the thinking, not the output.

and now with AI agents like (by ), you can automate the whole thing — from outline to finished report.
