The Rodent Hour Mon Jun 14 with Matt Attack on Radio Free Brooklyn

This Friday, Bandcamp is donating 100% of their share of sales to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, a racial justice organization with a long history of effectively enacting change through litigation, advocacy, and public education.

For all of our recent broadcasts I've uploaded links to artist websites or Bandcamp pages so that listeners can use our Spinitron playlists as a resource. In last night's playlist I also uploaded ticket information for the upcoming live shows that we mentioned - Broken Baby/Egg Drop Soup on 6/30 at El Cid on Sunset; Nihiloceros/Fat Heaven on 6/30 at Our Wicked Lady; and Mean Siders/Slut Magic at Our Wicked Lady on 6/25.

Even though Bandcamp Fridays are no more you can still help support good causes when you purchase the music of independent artists from their website.

The Rodent Hour Ep. #210 - Queen Vicki Day

Last weekend was Victoria Day in Canada so we kicked off the show with my favorite independent artist from Victoria, Bad Hoo, and we closed it out with a song making fun of Victoria by Mr. Right & Mr. Wrong.

Sandwiched in between was great rock 'n' roll by Big Sugar, The Delta Shake, Eden James, Psychiatric Metaphors, Alejandro Meola, Idolizers, The Pesticides, Muck and the Mires, Th' Losin Streaks, T-Tops, SNFU and King Bull from Red Deer, Alberta.

As one might say in Canada, "The playlist is skookum so crank it up and give'er!"

The episode is available from our Mixcloud archives, Apple Podcasts and from our show page on the Radio Free Brooklyn website.

If you've listened to The Rodent Hour over the last few months, thank you, you've heard me mention how we upload our playlists to Spinitron. I think it's a great way to help listeners discover new music during the show and it's also an excellent resource to help listeners consume, i.e. buy, the music later.

Take, as an example, our recent show featuring a live set by X-Ray Love. If you liked their sound live you can click on the Spinitron playlist and hear 20-second studio recordings of all their songs. How cool is that?

Of course you can always listen to the full broadcast, after all it's still on the Mixcloud charts, 47th in Alternative Rock & 50th in Indie Rock, but if you want to know who the artists were that we used as bed music (Shovel, The Routes, TOXIC RIDERS The Delta Shake and Moussaka) or just refresh your memory on what Suzi Moon, The Red Fuze, The Rebel Set, The Dents, The Richmond Sluts, HOT Laundry, Velvet Sunset, The Bullseyes or The Sun's Evil Twin sound like, then you can do that too.
