We did some redecorating!

Mrs. Attack is away for a few weeks so I thought I’d make a few changes around the apartment. I wonder if she’ll notice?

There’s a new spot in the neighborhood, a hotel and they’re trying for a rock’n’roll look.

Quick reminder that today is Bandcamp Friday. From midnight to midnight Pacific Time, Bandcamp waives its revenue share, ensuring that about 93% of your money goes directly to the artists and labels to support independent music.

I picked up three albums, two with connections to former guests on The Rodent Hour, while the 3rd came via "dumpster diving". (My term for going down rabbit holes on Bandcamp.)

The first album was "Deep Below" by Thunder Queens. I was introduced to their big guitar hooks by Castle Black, who played a show with them in London, ON.

Album #2 was "Static" by Taxi Girls. I first learned about this punk & Roll from Montreal when Franz Barcella, one of the founders of Wild Honey Records was my guest on Radio Free Brooklyn. The band is now on Stomp Records.

Lastly, I picked up "Unreason Season" by Stone Sober, a psychedelic garage rock drum and guitar duo from Budapest, Hungary.

Thanks to all the artists for making music that I like.

I don’t know about anyone else but tomorrow is presenting me with quite the dilemma.

Labor unions, democratic organizations and community groups are organizing an economic blackout this year to commemorate May Day, International Workers Day.

May Day Strong events are being planned across the US, with organizers calling for “no school, no work, no shopping”, in protest of government policies they say put billionaires’ needs above those of workers.

Friday, May 1st is also Bandcamp Friday, I’m sure that you’ve heard about it.

I want to support the no shopping aspect of May Day Strong but I also want to support the independent artists who have brought me so much joy over the years.

I think the best thing I can do is to buy some music on Bandcamp Friday because if there’s going to be a group of people who will help lead us out of this mess we’re in, it’s going to be the artists and musicians.

In the midst of a long walk home from Industry City, I spotted a sticker on some NYC themed street art. It kinda made my day. The band is a former guest from our time at
