Heather Just Create

Heather Just Create I'm a YouTube coach helping you build your corner of the internet on YouTube. I'm also a vlogger documenting my entrepreneur journey! Hi!

I'm Heather Ramirez, YouTube Certified coach and digital content creator! In April 2016, I quit my job to start my own business promoting digital literacy, all while documenting my journey on YouTube. It was the most terrifying decision of my life, but now I make a living doing what I love, I’m able to help people all around the world, and I also met the love of my life! I had no idea that any of this would happen but that’s the magic of YouTube. Your story can make a real, positive impact on someone else which can open up limitless opportunities. Your hobby, your passion, your unique experience is worth sharing. You just have to be willing to share it.

an infinite number of one-in-a-million moments all had to line up for these pictures to exist. i don’t think i’ll ever be able to fully describe how grateful i am to be on this incredible adventure with these amazing people. in the past year, i’ve spent more time with these folks than anyone else in my life. we built a nonprofit together. we’ve slayed digital dragons. we’ve had to work together to escape some lethal situations.👻 countless memories have been made over the past 1.5 years. and yet, this was our VERY FIRST TIME meeting in person.

last weekend, several members of HJP went to the anaheim convention center for FanFest. for many of our members, it was their first time in california. for one, it was their first time in the US. and i can say that if it were not for HJP, we probably would have never crossed paths.

i knew i was onto something with HJP. it’s why i transformed this youtube community into a nonprofit a year ago. but i didn’t truly understand the potential for good that this nonprofit can do until i saw it with my own eyes in person.

the same way that there are centers for sports that provide enriching opportunities through basketball, hockey, tennis, running, etc.

or centers for arts that focus on theater, dance, music, writing, painting, etc.

HJP is a digital community center providing enriching experiences through video games.

and what i think is particularly special about HJP is that we’re NOT bound by proximity. we have members from different states, different countries. members in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s! even though most of our interaction is digital, our connection is REAL.

our unique diversity allows us to learn that we have more in common with each other than not. and these experiences have been life changing in many ways for our members, for me.

i see the good that HJP can do, that HJP IS doing, and i’m so excited to see where we go from here!

thanks HJP!🤩💜

also, special shoutout to for being the first company to donate to HJP and whose support helped make this weekend possible!

it’s been months since tom and i have made a video or podcast together. we’re a bit rusty 😝 also, do you take your thumbnail photos BEFORE or AFTER you record your video? i totally didn’t realize tom takes them BEFORE. all these years later, i’m still surprised at how different we approach youtube lol

and check out my studio!! it’s always a work in progress but i LOVE where it’s at right now.💜🤩

final version of this video is up on the HeatherJustPlay youtube channel!

I WROTE MY FIRST SUBSTACK ARTICLE! 😱🥳 for most of my life, i’ve associated video games with being a bad habit or an indulgent hobby. they’re something i’m supposed to feel guilty about and obviously grow out of. as a 40 year old, i’m playing more video games than i ever have… and i explore why in my first substack article! if you want to give it a read, LINK IN BIO!

also, WOW. i’m so excited about discovering substack. as much as i love editing youtube videos, there’s something about writing that really allows me to express what only i can say. while i was cooped up with health struggles for 4 months, i read A LOT. and OOOHHH the itch to write is REAL yo!📝

AND LET IT BE KNOWN. substack is going to be the first digital platform where i INTENTIONALLY IGNORE AND AVOID all the best practices, tips & tricks, gurus, growth hacks etc. 🙅‍♀️ i have zero interest in growing an audience on substack. you can actually turn off the analytics in the substack dashboard so you don’t get distracted by subscriber numbers. heck yeah.

so why even write on substack? well, i do believe in putting things out into the universe! i just don’t want to be all super strategic about it because that takes the fun out of it. i want to use this opportunity to PLAY. play for the sake of play. writing for the sake of writing. and then put it out there, see what happens.✨

and you better believe every article i write will be 100% human made! i don’t care if AI can write it better or faster. in this case, NO, done is NOT better than perfect. channeling things that i feel into written word is a struggle for sure, but in a challenging and fulfilling way. definitely not gonna outsource this process to something that doesn’t live the human experience.

also the substack editor is the best text editor i’ve ever used.😮‍💨 they definitely know what they’re doing. it’s the equivalent of an amazing pen and fantastic paper.

aiming to publish WEEKLY! LET’S GOOOO 🤩

me, tom, and soun tried a new game last night. it’s called Escape the Backrooms. and these were definitely the scariest mimics we’ve ever encountered 💀😝

for the past 4 months, i’ve been dealing with some unexpected, debilitating health issues that put my life on hold. i couldn’t work on the nonprofit i just started. most days, i couldn’t get out of bed. if i did, it was just to move to the couch. 🫠 i couldn’t make videos. i couldn’t stream. i couldn’t create.

as the weeks turned into months, i couldn’t help but wonder… is this the new normal? i kept hoping that whatever i was dealing with would eventually fade away with time but my brain remained blank and my body still messed up. it was… rough.

but two weeks ago, i FINALLY figured out what was wrong with me and started a completely new treatment plan. and for the first time in 4 months, i’m starting to feel like myself again. i’m not at 100%. sleep is still catching up and my body is still recalibrating but the fact that i’m posting this is proof of my progress! i can feel my light starting to glow again ✨

HI ME! OMG I’VE FREAKING MISSED YOU!🤩
