SIBERIAN DREAM is now available on Amazon.com.

Author, actress and fashion icon IRINA PANTAEVA was born into Russia's Buryat Mongol culture, an ancient tradition almost wiped out under the oppressive Soviet regime. She struggled to leave Russia and find creative freedom in the West, eventually achieving success in Moscow, Paris and New York. Returning after ten years with her young son, she shares her unique Buddhist tradition with Westerners through the universal language of art. Her book of the same title has been translated into many languages. SIBERIAN DREAM was broadcast internationally and is the winner of a 2005 CINE Golden Eagle Award.

We're happy to see that Allan Wolper's excellent interview with Sayon Soeun and Janet Gardner is being repeated tonight at 7:30 on 88.3 FM and on www.wbgo.org. If you missed it the first time, be sure to tune in!

Conversations with Allan Wolper airs at 7:30 tonight on WBGO and www.wbgo.org. His guest is Sayon Soeun. Soeun, once a child soldier kidnapped by Cambodia's Khmer Rouge government which killed over two million people, returns to his homeland to search for his family. The trip is chronicled in the documentary Lost Child, Sayon's Journey directed by Janet Gardner.

On Thursday, August 7, two notorious Khmer Rouge leaders were sentenced to life in prison. Their crimes during Pol Pot's regime in the 1970's included "extermination encompassing murder, political persecution, and other inhumane acts comprising forced transfer, enforced disappearances and attacks against human dignity."

Sayon Soeun and Sopheap Theam, whose lives have been irretrievably changed by the Cambodian genocide, have each made a statement on our website about this long-delayed justice and the feelings it evokes in them.
