The heat and humidity is drawing people to the water, but officials are warning people that doing so without a lifeguard can be dangerous. Elijah Westbrook reports.

Both incidents took place after lifeguards were off duty.

Dramatic video of captured on board Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas shows water spewing out of a waterslide on the ship after a panel shattered mid-ride, injuring one guest and sending water pouring into a public area.
"Our team provided medical care to an adult guest when acrylic glass broke off a water slide as the guest passed through the slide," a spokesperson said. "The guest is being treated for his injuries. The water slide is closed for the remainder of the sailing pending an investigation."

The incident sent passengers scrambling and in the chaos some were heard shouting for the slide attendent to stop anyone else from going on the ride. This comes after other recent mishaps made headlines. Here's more.

President Trump on Monday announced plans to use the National Guard to crack down on crime in Washington, D.C. He also spoke about the homeless.

Officials said Monday night that crews isolated the water main leak. They are now urging residents to conserve water as the work continues to fix the water main. Adi Guajardo has the latest.

The advisory covers all of Paterson, as well as Prospect Park, Haledon and North Haledon, after a massive water main break last week.

So far, Legionnaires' cases have been found in these Central Harlem zip codes: 10027, 10030, 10035, 10037 and 10039. Officials said anyone with symptoms in these neighborhoods should see a health care provider and not assume they simply have a cold.

Officials said Monday night there has been an uptick in cases in the Legionnaires' disease cluster in Central Harlem.

A chilling 911 call was released Monday in the Franklin Township, New Jersey double murder-suicide​ from earlier this month.

The shelter at 2134 Coyle St., to be built by Westhab, is slated to house 169 homeless families with children. However, residents and local leaders say the rezoned site, approved in 2021, was originally pitched as a building that would include affordable housing. Hannah Kliger reports.

The boil water advisory covers all of Paterson, as well as Prospect Park, Haledon and North Haledon. Impacted residents should boil water for at least a minute before using it for drinking, preparing foods, mixing baby formula, washing produce, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth and washing dishes.
