I see people complaining all the time about landlords coming around every three months to do inspections.

Honestly, I look at it completely differently. I see it as a great opportunity to deep clean my home every three months.

It gives me a reason to stay on top of things, and that extra bit of accountability gives me the motivation I sometimes need to tackle those jobs that can easily get pushed aside.

It also gives us a chance to let our landlords know if something in the house isn’t quite right. For example, the skirting board near the shower is starting to show some water damage, so the inspection is a good opportunity to flag it before it becomes a bigger problem.

At the end of the day, we have to remember that we’re living in someone else’s home, so we should treat it with the same care and respect we would want someone to show our own property.

And these inspections aren’t necessarily about trying to catch you out, landlords have responsibilities too, including protecting their investment and meeting their insurance requirements.

So instead of seeing that three-monthly inspection as a hassle, I choose to see it as my three-monthly cleaning deadline! 😂

Get stuck into those cupboards, skirting boards, windows, bathrooms and all those little jobs you’ve been putting off, then sit back and enjoy a freshly deep-cleaned home. ❤️

Crap job, or is this pretty normal? 🤔

We had two pads poured today, along with about 22" into the garage, all as one continuous pour. Looking at this edge afterward, I’m not sure what I’m looking at.

The edge looks pretty rough and there’s quite a bit of exposed aggregate along the joint. Is this just typical finishing around a form/joint, or does it look like the crew could have done a better job?

Would love to hear from the concrete guys before I say anything to the contractor. What do you think? 👇

So, I guess I’m getting a tetanus shot today… Fun times owning an RV rental business. 🤣

I take our RV to our local KOA between every rental to flush the tanks really well.

Well, I showed up at the KOA this morning and was informed they’re no longer allowing anyone without a reservation to use the dump station.

I said, “Okay… how much is a reservation?”

Next thing I know, I have a camping spot I won’t use and sewage water ALL OVER ME. 😭

Apparently, the last people who rented the RV didn’t fully close the black tank lever, so when I uncapped it, sewage started SPEWING everywhere, leaving me trying to cap off the equivalent of a fire hose. 💩🚿

I finally managed to get the hose attached, but not without getting raw sewage on me in the process. 🤢

Disgusted but relieved that I had stopped the flow, I look up and realize there is BLOOD all over the side of the RV.

I’m looking at my hands trying to figure out where it’s coming from and discover that somewhere in the chaos, I sliced my finger.

So now I have black tank water all over me and blood all over everything. 😳

I ran to the bathroom and scrubbed up to my elbows like I was going into surgery, but really what I need to do is set myself on fire. 🔥

So, yeah… I’m going to get a tetanus shot this afternoon.

These are the SAME renters whose kids picked at the Formica on my dinette table AND who apparently thought the front passenger seat was the perfect place to clip their fingernails.

I. CANNOT. 🤦🏼‍♀️

RV rental business for sale. Kendall was with me and said we should have just abandoned it right then and there. 🤣 It’s safe to say she’s traumatized, maybe even moreso than me.

Pic of me tending to my sliced finger for tax. 😩

I'm staying at an Airbnb for a family get-together, and I wandered into the basement... then found this giant concrete structure taking up a huge section of the room.

It's basically a massive sloped concrete slab under a low ceiling with exposed pipes and one small basement window. It definitely caught me off guard because I've never seen anything like it in a house before.

We've all been throwing out guesses, but nobody seems to know what it was originally built for. Maybe it was part of an old coal bin, a storm shelter, a foundation for something that was removed, or it served some other purpose years ago.

The owners weren't sure either, so now I'm genuinely curious.

Has anyone seen something like this before or know what it might have been used for? I'd love to hear your best guess!

Imagine opening your door and seeing this. Coffee all over the concrete, cups knocked over, food bags wet, and ice scattered everywhere. 😡

What makes me mad is not even the accident — accidents happen. It’s leaving without saying anything.

A simple message like “Hey, one drink spilled” would at least show some respect.

Would you rather the driver tell you, or just leave this and hope you don’t notice?
