Spending $18,000 on a custom deck just to find out the roof isn't actually pitched for rain runoff! 🏠🌧️ I thought we were building a sanctuary, but without a proper slope, this "covered" deck is just going to be a giant waterfall hitting the house. It's frustrating to pay for a professional design that misses basic drainage physics.

Let's see if we can start grinding.

Whoever described wood heat as “simple and cozy” clearly never fought with a stove that acts like this.

Every time I try to relight it, the house fills with smoke the moment the door cracks open. Then the second the door closes, the fire struggles for air and dies right out.

I’ve cleaned the chimney, adjusted the stovepipe, switched to properly seasoned wood, and spent more time troubleshooting than I ever expected just to keep this thing running correctly.

At this point, the chimney looks like it belongs on an industrial plant, not a home heating system.

Nothing about this setup has been simple.

I paid a plumbing company $4,400 to replace a sewer line under my garage, and now my garage floor looks like it lost a fight with a sidewalk 😭
They cut a huge section out of the concrete, repaired the pipe, and patched it back in with concrete that doesn’t even remotely match the original floor.
So I asked the foreman when they planned to stain or finish it so it would blend in better…
And this man literally laughed and said:
“It’s a garage floor, buddy, not the Taj Mahal. Be glad it’s not dirt.” 💀
BE GLAD IT’S NOT DIRT??
I’m sorry, but if I’m paying thousands of dollars for a “professional” repair, I feel like the end result shouldn’t look like a random parking lot patch job.
Now I’m sitting here wondering if this just tanked the appearance — and possibly the resale value — of my garage.
Would you push back and demand they resurface the area properly, or am I overreacting?

Does anyone have any recommendations to get paint off of wood trim without damaging it?

We’re slowly updating paint colors in our house, and the realtor of the previous owners told them they needed to paint everything, and unfortunately they did an absolutely terrible job at it. There are splotches everywhere in the house like this where they were not very careful painting around the trim. I’ve done my own research, but was wondering if anyone has used anything specifically that has worked really well. Thank you in advance! 🤔💡🏠🎨😊👍
