This month's film from Remy Styrk is titled “i saw a face.” Remy is a former Sandblast intern and now freelance Sandblast composer, making a short film every month as a way to be more vocal and open about mental health for people his age.
From Remy: "i’m listening to old albums i first heard as a kid and i’m getting this heavy, haunting feeling of guilt. listening as an adult, i thought i was re-experiencing these songs, but i was truly hearing them for the first time. i felt the sense of adventure i yearned for as a kid, but never got. i saw my childhood streets again, just less saturated. i would trade an hour of my time today; knowing what i know, having gone through i’ve gone through, grieving past traumas; for an hour as a kid to listen to these albums again, for the real first time.”
