Floyd Mayweather just filed a major lawsuit yesterday (May 22). He’s seeking $175 million, alleging that his former investment manager and real estate adviser defrauded him over multiple years. 

The suit, filed in a New York court, claims Jona Rechnitz and Ayal Frist — who ran a Florida-based real estate and investment firm called Frist Apex Ventures — committed fraud and breach of fiduciary duty. Mayweather alleges Rechnitz built a relationship with him over years to gain his trust, then used his advisory role to move Mayweather’s money into outside accounts. 

Some of the specific allegations are pretty wild: he says roughly $100 million worth of jewelry was handed over to Miami jewelers for only about $13 million in return, with much of the collection still unaccounted for. He also claims he unknowingly signed documents transferring ownership of his private jet without a listed buyer. 

Mayweather is seeking at least $175M, punitive damages, and a full accounting of where all the money allegedly went.
