The Rest Is Noise PH Manila-based music curator, events production, and online publication. Co-founder of AXEAN Festival.

The Rest Is Noise PH (TRIN) is a music curator, events production, and online publication based in Manila, Philippines. Since 2015, TRIN has curated and produced more than 30 shows: ranging from pocket venues to outdoor festival settings. It is home to the annual Summer Noise and All Of The Noise music festivals, which feature critically acclaimed homegrown and international music acts. These show

s highlight the rich and diverse backgrounds, cultures, and styles of music artists from home and abroad, championing both emerging and established music-makers. In 2020, TRIN launched a digital platform to cover music by Asian artists from anywhere in the world: publishing in-depth stories, profiles, features, and essays as well as curate regular playlists, country spotlight, and radio mixes. During the same year, TRIN co-founded the AXEAN Festival (formerly ASEAN Music Showcase Festival), a collaborative regional showcase festival that aims to put the spotlight on music artists and communities from Southeast Asia. TRIN takes pride in fostering a thriving sense of community, culture, and inclusivity—providing a platform that champions the best of Asian music and strengthening regional and global connections, onstage or in the digital space.

ICYMI: The panel discussions for Day 2 of ALL OF THE NOISE: 10 Years of The Rest Is Noise highlighted the deeper layers of q***r visibility in mainstream media and how Budots is more than just dance—it’s identity, resistance, and cultural movement.

Empowering Q***r Visibility in Pinoy Music, Pixie Labrador, Pette Cabahu, and Ed Croix—moderated by Gab Saulog—called for deeper, more responsible q***r representation.

Beyond stereotypes and surface-level allyship, they highlighted the need for safe spaces, historical awareness, and genuine understanding.

Meanwhile, in Brash Maximalism: Budots and the Global Future of Pinoy Electronic Music, Jorge Wienekr, Lex Celera, and Jay Rosas—moderated by Sai Versailles—framed Budots not just as a genre, but a cultural movement. A loud, local sound that reclaims space and reminds us of who we are—and who we could be.

Stories were tackled from visibility to movement.

“Bisdak! VisMin Music Community and Decentralizing OPM Narratives & Opportunities” featured Karl Lucente, Guji Lorenzana, Dexter Sy, and Jerros Dolina, moderated by Kara Angan. The panel traced the roots of the VisMin music community—how it started, how it’s grown, and how it continues to carve space in a landscape often centered on the capital.

“Music Showcase & Creative Industry Development – A Career-Building Guide” followed with David Siow, Dylan Amirio, and Gino Rosales, moderated by MC Galang, offering practical insights into building sustainable careers in music and navigating the wider creative industry.

ICYMI: The opening night of ‘welcome to the static’ by Karen Dela Fuente set the tone for All of the Noise: 10 Years of The Rest Is Noise last April 3, 2025. 🎶

The night began with opening remarks from MC Galang and Ian Urrutia, the founders of The Rest Is Noise, followed by words from our co-presenters Symphonic Asia and Astbury, and Ren Aguila, the exhibit curator.

Karen herself shared that her exhibit is how it feels to be in the photo pit, to be inside of her brain.

Closing out the evening were live sets from Nameless Kids and One Click Straight, bringing the energy full circle.
