We formed AXEAN Festival (formerly ASEAN Music Showcase Festival) in early 2020, shortly after the pandemic lockdown alongside our good, scrappy friends from Southeast Asia, whom we’ve met in late 2010s in different parts of Asia—coming along together with common grit, a little bit of stubbornness, a lot of door-knocking, blood, sweat, and tears—in a consequential moment in our lives, our cultures, communities, and countries, united in our passion and deep love for music.
After holding the first 2 editions online, we held the inaugural showcase in Singapore in 2022 and 2023, followed by last year and this year’s editions in Bali, Indonesia.
Since 2020, The Rest Is Noise has brought over 20 Filipino music acts to AXEAN Festival alone—including this year’s artists DJ Love, LUSTBASS, and ONE CLICK STRAIGHT—coordinating and extending more exchange and export opportunities to more artists solely through the support of our global, private network and the artists themselves in their pursuit of creative and career development.
We want to share more about our work at AXEAN Festival, our big dreams—but we hope these steps, largely done behind the scenes, speak for itself.
