Based on the Phase 3 EMBER-3 trial results the FDA has approved the combination of imlunestrant (Inluriyo) plus abemaciclib (Verzenio) as a new treatment option for people with ER-+, HER2-, ESR1- mutated breast cancer who have previously received endocrine therapy.

What is an ESR1 mutation?
ESR1 mutations can develop in breast cancer cells after exposure to endocrine therapy and may affect how the cancer responds to certain hormone therapies.

As new treatments become available, understanding who they are intended for and what the clinical trial results showed can help you have informed conversations with your healthcare team.

New Treatment Update!:
Based on the Phase 3 PATINA trial results the FDA has approved a new maintenance treatment option for people with HER2 +, HR+ locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer after initial treatment. The combination includes Palbociclib (Ibrance) plus trastuzumab (Herceptin), with or without pertuzumab (Perjeta), and endocrine therapy.
