BREAKING: Oligarch Elon Musk rips the mask off on his greedy plans by launching an all-out attack on Social Security — alleging "inconsistencies" to pave the way for a MAGA smash and grab.
This is an all hands on deck emergency...
During a recent appearance on the right-wing Joe Rogan podcast, Musk smeared Social Security as a "Ponzi scheme" and "one big pyramid scheme."
On social media, he claimed without evidence that he has found "inconsistencies" in Social Security and falsely claimed that millions of people over the age of 130 — that is to say, dead people — were receiving Social Security checks in the "biggest fraud in history of humanity."
In reality, it's one of the most successful programs in American history. Before it was instituted in 1935, roughly 50% of elderly Americans lived below the poverty line.
In 1959, 35% of Americans aged 65 and older were poor. By 2019 that number had plummeted to 9% thanks to Social Security. In 2023, something 71.6 million Americans received benefits from the Social Security Administration.
Musk, of course, doesn't care about these historic improvements to the quality of life of our elderly. He cares about lining his own pockets, even if it means inflicting mass suffering on innocent people.
Billionaires like him want to loot Social Security and privatize the services so that they can siphon even more wealth away from the American people.
Democrats were quick to tear into Musk's lies—
"This guy is a leech on the public. No matter how many billions he gets in tax cuts and government contracts, it will never be enough for him," Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wrote on X, sharing a clip of Musk's remarks.
"Now he's going after the elderly, the disabled, and orphaned children so he can pocket it in tax cuts for himself. It's disgusting," she added.
"Social Security keeps 18 million seniors out of poverty every year. Trump and Musk are lying about it for one reason: so they can cut, privatize & dismantle it. We must EXPAND Social Security benefits, not cut them. And I am introducing a bill to just that," announced Senator Bernie Sanders on X.
"Social Security is not a Ponzi scheme it's a promise that every American pays into so they can retire with dignity. Get loud and tell Elon Musk to keep his hands OFF social security," wrote Senator Patty Murray.
If you're wondering at what point Musk will have enough money, when he'll stop hoarding more and more wealthy at the expense of others, the answer is never. There is something fundamentally broken inside the world's richest man. He won't be happy until all of us are utterly immiserated. He must be stopped.
