Had to say goodbye to my babygirl Saturday. It has been really tough. Please enjoy how sweet and goofy she looks. I loved her more than anything, but she was far too good for this world. Also the third pet I've lost this year due to age, so I know it will be okay. But still, ow. Love you.

Feeling guilty but what stage do you say goodbye?

My doggo is getting on the older side. He was a stray found on the street. (First photo was a couple months ago and second was the day we got him) A vet had seen him and guessed he was about a year old and was about fully grown. Or not going to get much bigger. Jokes on me. He grew a lot and went from a small skinny dog to a big dog. We never got a dna test but he is about 65 lbs. so my guess is he was no more than 4/5 months old when I got him.

That fast forward to now. It’s at least 12 years later. My sweet boy is definitely showing signs of aging but I’m at a cross roads. His mobility is getting less. He doesn’t get out of his bed much anymore. He has an off and on limp we thought was really triggered by the cold because we got hit by a horrible ice storm and he refused to walk and would growl. but now it’s becoming way more frequent but not as severe. He walks with his head down. He tries to sit but can’t keep his front paws under him and slides to laying down and seems just to tired to get back up unless he has too. Most of his pain has been associated with his back legs but it’s now moving to his front. I have taken him to the vet but the vet said he is getting older I can run the tests but it seems more like aging and gave me some stuff to give him.

Here is why I’m worried. He lays there and just cries. He has had a history of getting aggressive when he is in pain. When my son leaned on him wrong he tried to get away from him and cut his face. And he more recently has got more aggressive with our other dog making her bleed when she gets annoying around him. I’m really worried as this progresses I will be unable to even get him to a vet.

At what point do I consider that his quality of life isn’t there and I let him cross the rainbow bridge? He has always been a lover.

Please no hate. I love this boy so much. I was only supposed to foster until we found his family but when we never found them he was my son’s best friend. We hate seeing him in pain our harts are breaking.

Confronted with one of my biggest fears. Struggling with it emotionally. Encouragement needed. 🩵

Kevin was not himself last night after a walk. By bed time, I knew something was different because of the way he laid down. I kept an eye on him, we fell asleep, and I woke up at 3am with him more hesitant to move- while he was not crying- he did begin to tremble eventually, so I rushed him to an emergency vet about 90 miles away. They did say it was likely back pain related to IVDD (I have feared this everyday since he was a puppy)- but because there is no neurological damage, conservative treatment and bed rest will be recommended for about a month. I’m grateful he isn’t experiencing neurological damage; I’ve seen how bad it can be. I am also equally so sad - my boy is my world; we go on little adventures together and I absolutely adore seeing him happy and playing. Why do I feel grief about it ? I know it’s temporary but my heart feels so heavy & I feel so guilty because I felt like I could have done more or maybe I shouldn’t have taken him out yesterday evening. It breaks my heart to see him like this and to know he won’t be able to do much for a while. 😔 If anyone has advice or words of encouragement, I’d really appreciate it.

Why is this happening?
This is Remi. He's 7 months old. I've had him since he was 6 weeks old. He's perfect, however there's 1 thing he does that I can't for the life of me figure out why he's doing it. So Remi gets fed twice a day. I also have 2 small yorkies. At the beginning when I fed them, it was perfect. However for the last couple months, Remi doesn't want to eat his food until the small dogs are done eating. They have different foods since they're different breeds. At first I thought he liked their food better so I started to mix his food. I give him kibble and fresh pet. Different flavors of fresh pet so he doesn't get bored but... now it doesn't matter the flavor. I can tell He's hungry but he will NOT touch his food until the others are done. Then he'll go sniff their bowls then he'll start eating his food. Does anyone understand what's happening? Did I do something wrong?

How long did it take you guys to name your puppy? It’s my third full day with her and nothing is sticking yet. (Yes it’s the same puppy in both pics lol)

She’s extremely smart and sweet. Common names like Luna and Bella make me cringe 😬

OWNER OF A STORE GIVES AWAY FOOD TO ABANDONED STREET DOGS.. THEY KNOW AND THEY ARRIVE AT THE STORE EARLY, AS SOON AS THE MAN OPENS THE DOOR, THEY ARE HUNGRY AND WAITING PATIENTLY FOR THEIR FOOD.. GOD BLESS SUCH GOOD HEARTED PEOPLE..!!. ❤️
