Giraffe :: The Towering Inferno With Bongo Drums

Giraffe consists of a quartet of well-known Los Angles improvisers — Dave Harrington, Spencer Zahn, Robert Walter and Kosta Galanopolous — who share an affinity for humid grooves and loose-limbed melodies. On their debut album, they deliver a set of loose, assured, funky and concise jams perfect for long, lazy days that are nonetheless getting shorter and twitchier, a laid-back yet unsettling soundtrack for hazy afternoons that are steadily turning into sharp evenings and restless nights, second by weird second.

The Weather Channel is one of my most-listened-to albums this year, simply for the fact that I vibe with the sheer amount of improvisation and experimentation around a critical mass of just damn good jazz. Even if you are unfamiliar with some of the influences on this album, or if you only know Jenifer’s work in the hardcore scene, it’s worth your time."

Big congrats to Larry McDonald! Well deserved.

We are excited to share the news that Lawrence "Larry" McDonald has been announced as a recipient of Jamaica's National Honour 2026, the Badge of Honour for Meritorious Service, for his OUTSTANDING contributions to the field of entertainment. 🏅🏅🏅

Larry will be honored with the award on National Hero’s Day, October 19 on the lawns of Kings House in Kingston, Jamaica.
