I''m so excited to share my Cover Reveal for THE TIFFANY GIRLS.

New York Times bestselling author Shelley Noble wows with a gripping historical novel about the real-life “Tiffany Girls,” a fascinating and largely unknown group of women artists behind Tiffany’s most legendary glassworks.

Manhattan 1900—With the Paris Exposition Universelle, the largest World’s Fair in history, on the horizon, Louis Comfort Tiffany is determined to take his place as the undisputed master of stained-glass art.

In his Manhattan workshop, three disparate women join to bring his art to the world. Emilie Pascal, a forger’s daughter, on the run, who longs to follow her own artistic destiny. Grace Griffith who creates religious windows by day, but pens political cartoons by night. Clara Driscoll, the uncredited designer of Tiffany’s most famous stained glass lamps.

Brought together by chance, driven by their belief in one man’s vision, they are the “Tiffany Girls,” three of thirty women at the Tiffany Glass Company who will break the glass ceiling of their era and for working girls to come.

An Afternoon of Historical Fiction with authors Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni & Brianna Labuskes

Join us for an afternoon filled with historical fiction! We are hosting Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni, author of INDEPENDENCE, and Brianna Labuskes, author of THE LIBRARIAN OF BURNED BOOKS.

About INDEPENDENCE (on sale 1/17/23): Set during the partition of British India in 1947, a time when neighbor was pitted against neighbor and families were torn apart, award-winning author Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni’s novel brings to life the sweeping story of three sisters caught up in events beyond their control, their unbreakable bond, and their incredible struggle against powerful odds.
"A powerful, gripping, and beautifully told story of three women navigating the crossroads of history. Divakaruni's eye is both unflinching and deeply compassionate, encompassing all the complexities of the sisters' lives. I couldn't put it down."
—Madeline Miller, New York Times bestselling author of Circe and Song of Achilles

"I have long been a fan of Chitra Divakaruni’s novels, but INDEPENDENCE is now my favorite. She tells the story of India’s independence through the eyes of three sisters, each of whom is uniquely different, with her own desires and flaws. I cheered for them and cried with them as they move through the history of their country that is at once devastating, inspiring, and triumphant. You will, too."
—Lisa See, #1 New York Times bestselling author

An act of translation is always an act of betrayal. R.F. Kuang's BABEL has won the Barnes & Nobles Speculative Fiction Book Award for 2022!

Journey with Robin Swift throughout the world of linguistics and silver housed in Babel, a prestigious and exclusive school housed within Oxford. Robin's 19th century England is reminiscent of what you might know of it from history class: imperialism, industrialism, and class struggles plague the country. Robin and his cohort understand their intersectional identities through their study at Babel: should they let themselves be used to enjoy a comfortable life, or do they use their language skills to defy colonialism and help uplift others? Language is a futile weapon in this novel, proving itself a deserving winner of the Speculative fiction Book Award.

Thank you Ms. Kuang for showing us all this incredible world and challenging readers to understand their own a bit better.

"That's just what translation is, I think. That's all speaking is. Listening to the other and trying to see past your own biases to glimpse what they're trying to say. Showing yourself to the world, and hoping someone else understands."

When Friendship Prevails Until the Bitter — and Sweet — End

"Here is the thing about this book. It is excruciatingly heartbreaking, but I laughed out loud on almost every page. And I am not an easy laugher. Newman’s voice is hilarious and warm; her characters feel like old friends….a winning novel.”
The New York Times reviews We All Want Impossible Things by Catherine Newman, out 11/8.
Read more:

In her novel “We All Want Impossible Things,” Catherine Newman achieves the near-impossible: a story about death, with humor.

Join us on Tues. Jan 10, at 6:30pm for an in-person event hosted by and + (110 Fifth Avenue, 3rd floor)!

As of right now, the event has a 30-person cap, so register early: bit.ly/TMDCompass

I’ll also be signing copies of my book for those of you who had missed our in-person book events last season!

Event info: Upstairs NYC has invited me for a discussion about the wild and unplanned journey of The Monsoon Diaries — how a side hobby keeping me sane during medical school turned into a worldwide travel community and more recently a book published by HarperCollins — and how you can apply what I learned to your own hobbies and passions in your life.

My hope is to impart some kindred experience that may resonate or even illuminate, so that one day it’ll be my turn to cheer you on when you develop your own hobby into something bigger, grow a community, and/or publish your own book!
https://youtu.be/V_LDUsViVJs Most Christians don't understand their faith. All the recent studies, most Christian leaders, and our own personal experience verify this disturbing reality. Many in the church are immobilized in modern culture because current spiritual formation strategies do not package Christian teaching in a way that addresses today’s biblical counter-narratives.

Square 1 exists to bridge the discipleship gap between foundational Christian doctrine and practically living out a biblical worldview in today’s society.

Square 1, the discipleship tool of choice for church small groups, Christian schools, and ministry organizations.

Hello, HarperCollins! I just wanted to drop you a note as a Tolkien fan to let you know that The Fall of Numenor was the book I never knew I wanted.

It made me realize that there's a similar book that I never knew I wanted, it would be a similar reorganization of tolkien's third age works concerning the histories of Gondor arnor and The heirs of isildur. I realize that the numenor book was a result of the Amazon show, but it's similar a third age tale of years follow up with seem like a natural thing to do. Here's my vote that you do it.
Really disappointed by the number of inaccuracies in BB Alston's Amari and the Night Brothers (UK version). Currently looking like an average of one error per chapter which is pretty shoddy. Have emailed the UK Customer Services, Editorial Team and Charlie Redmayne himself, but no-one seems interested. It's very hard to explain to a motivated young reader who loves the written word that it's OK to spend money on a book published by a company who doesn't care about the standard of proof reading. Hugely let down!
Great Book !!
Be inspired this Thanksgiving week!
Just received "The Twist of a Knife" by Anthony Horowitz. Was it a new printing process or ink that was used. The book smells very chemical-like. It's so strong I can taste it. Also there's a misprint on page 4.
