James Woods Speaks Out, Defending Rob Reiner Amid “Disturbing” Attacks
James Woods — the actor long known for his spot-on Donald Trump voice work — has broken his silence in response to what he calls “outrageous and frightening” remarks being directed at filmmaker Rob Reiner.
“When people say the things they’re saying about Rob right now, I find it — quite frankly — infuriating and deeply unsettling,” Woods said.
“Do I agree with his politics? No. I never have.”
Then his tone shifted.
“But do I love him? As a friend, as an artist, as a Hollywood icon, and as a patriot? Absolutely.”
Woods admitted the wave of hostility aimed at Reiner has left him emotionally shaken.
“This isn’t political disagreement anymore,” he said. “This is character assassination.”
At a time when Hollywood feels more fractured than ever, Woods’ statement struck many as unexpected — not because he changed his beliefs, but because he chose humanity over hostility.
“We don’t have to be on the same side,” Woods concluded,
“but the moment destroying one another becomes acceptable, we lose something far bigger than any election.”
