Idea ka Funda will bring to the forefront the young innovators in business in India ("Contestants") within certain sectors of the Indian economy ("Sectors"), who meet specific criteria under the "Make In India" principles. The start-ups and qualified Contestants must be involved in businesses with new ideas and concepts which include certain criteria, such as, sustainability, conservation of resou
rces, improvement of public health and welfare, community development, etc. The Contestants on the Show will pitch their businesses to a panel of experts in business, government, investment, finance and education ("Panel") with the intent to convince, compete, match and obtain investments, feedback and continuing support and coaching for their businesses from the Panel, the Show promoters and the public. The Contestants will describe their business plans and models, including stories of prior successes and failures, and the Panel will relate their experiences and question each Contestant and provide expert feedback, opinions, and guidance, including possibilities of funding and investments. The Contestants will apply and satisfy certain criteria that address, social, development and environmental concerns. The Panel will consist of a combination of government experts in specific Sectors, successful entrepreneurs and leaders of businesses, professors, investors, and would combine experts from within India, the United States, and Internationally. The experts on each Panel will rotate and change, depending on the expertise of the Sectors of economy covered in a particular Show. The Idea ka Funda Show will be promoted and broadcast through social media [the World Wide Web, Twitter, Facebook, and mobile applications], road shows and television. The Contestants will receive wide exposure and potential funding, investments and business opportunities, along with the panelists' opinions, expertise, investments and input, which would be absorbed by the global community. The questions and input from the experts on the Panel plus, the ideas and innovations related by the Contestants, will drum up excitement from the audience, as they will watch with the hope that the Contestants they are rooting for become successful and have their lives changed dramatically. And further, the audience will be encouraged to innovate and participate in the Sectors of the economy for which growth is encouraged. By the conclusion of a particular Contestant's pitch and negotiations, the audience will have gone on a journey that spanned the Contestant's inception of his or her idea to seeing whether that idea proves to be lucrative. This will inspire people within India and outside of India to contribute, invest, and/or give back in some method or manner to the generation of today that is striving to develop new business models that are good for everyone in India. Idea ka Funda exemplifies the mission of The Now Gen by providing an accessible platform for the current generation to showcase their innovative business plans and connect them with investors who have the capability to propel them towards success. Our Show would be selecting contestants from all walks of life in India that represent the diverse groups of people that make up this generation. The Now Gen recognizes the importance in fostering the current generation's ideas and innovations in order to create a brighter future for the next generation. Idea ka Funda is a show that combines the intensity of a high stakes board room pitch with the personal back stories of the average person that led him or her to innovate. Our goal with this show is to match bright, enterprising Contestants with the right investor and coach who will be able to provide invaluable feedback to build the Contestant's business into a major market driver. We will be filming this show at universities at first, but plan to eventually expand our filming locations across various cities. Idea ka Funda will introduce the audience to entrepreneurs who have created novel products or services that further the associated industry. The diverse and compelling back stories will play a major role in defining the character of our Contestants allowing the audience to empathize with the Contestant throughout their pitch. The audience will root for the Contestant after learning aspects of the Contestant's life such as what they sacrificed to create their product, why they felt the need to innovate, or how their life and the lives of many others could change for the better if they were to receive an investment from persons associated with our Show. After the Contestant's pitch, the Panel, public, and persons associated with the Show will determine whether the Contestant's idea is worth investing in, supporting, and coaching. The negotiations that take place after the Contestants' pitch will provide the audience with compelling business discussions. Throughout the negotiations the Panel will pose difficult questions about the Contestant's business or product in order to determine whether this is something that he or she would really put his or her money behind. An adequately prepared Contestant with an innovative idea will be able to answer these questions with ease giving the Contestant more negotiating power. At the same time, the Panel of experts will be able to provide sound business advice based on their own experiences and knowledge. The individual Panel members, as well as the public and the associated investors will then have an option to propose an offer to invest that may include terms such as, taking a portion of the Contestant's business, coaching the business, introducing contacts, training, etc. From here, and after the Show, the Contestant may accept or negotiate for an offer that is more beneficial to him or her. It is from these negotiations that the Contestant and those associated with the Show will make a determination of whether they are willing to invest in the Contestant's idea or not and coach/participate in the new business subject to due diligence by both parties following an appearance on the show. The story does not end with the decisions made on the Show. These products and businesses brought onto the Show have lives outside the Show as well. The exposure generated by virtue of being on Idea ka Funda will benefit the Contestants and participants in a variety of ways. There lies the possibility that investors see potential in a Contestant's idea and chose to invest, coach, train, etc. Additionally, the demand for the Contestant's idea will reach national and International levels allowing the Contestant to profit even if a deal were not to be made on Idea ka Funda.
