BREAKING: Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers Trolls Trump's Lake Ontario Order by Renaming Lake Michigan on a McDonald's Napkin

Trump wanted to prove he could sign executive orders that changed maps. Tony Evers wanted to prove anyone could.

Hours after Trump signed an order officially renaming Lake Ontario "Lake America," calling the change "effective immediately," Wisconsin's governor responded the only way that made sense: from a McDonald's booth.

"And I just renamed Lake Michigan Lake Wisconsin," Evers posted, alongside video of himself writing the new name on a napkin with a pen. "See, I can sign napkins that say things, too."

The photos say it all. A styrofoam McDonald's cup, a laminated table number, and a 78-year-old governor calmly renaming a Great Lake in cursive between sips of coffee. No press conference. No Oval Office backdrop. Just a napkin and a point that lands harder than the joke it's wrapped in.

Trump's order doesn't require Canada to use the new name for Lake Ontario, and it doesn't change a single tariff, price, or job. Evers just demonstrated exactly how much weight that kind of gesture actually carries, by doing the same thing with a Sharpie and a fast food napkin.

Sometimes the sharpest response to a bad idea is just doing it back, slightly worse, on purpose.

ABSURD: Donald Trump just signed an executive order declaring that Lake Ontario will now be called “Lake America,” escalating his increasingly bizarre feud with Canada.

Trump said the change is “official” and “effective immediately,” claiming he had been thinking about renaming the lake “for a long time.”

The move comes as his trade war with Canada gets uglier, with the U.S. moving ahead with 50% tariffs and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney promising retaliation.

Rather than trying to cool things down, Trump used the Oval Office announcement to complain that Canada has been “ripping us off,” threaten even more tariffs, and insist the country has been taking advantage of the United States for decades.

Then things somehow got even stranger.

After bragging about previously renaming the Gulf of Mexico the “Gulf of America,” Trump said America now has “a gulf” and “a lake.”

“Now all we need is an ocean,” he said, before floating the idea of renaming the Atlantic, the Pacific, or possibly both.

So while American families are dealing with higher costs, farmers and businesses are bracing for retaliation, and one of our closest allies is locked in an escalating trade fight with Washington, Trump is apparently spending time renaming bodies of water.
