Here are the games that are scheduled to come out in the month of October:

FIRST ON OCTOBER 2nd…

In the action-adventure “Ghost of Yotei,” take control of a mercenary in rural 1600’s Japan, and hunt down those who killed your family when you were younger. Cut down your enemies with swords and other types of weapons, upgrade your skills and abilities, and travel across different landscapes and locations on your journey. The game is available for PlayStation 5.

Coming to Steam is a game that is a true test of both brain and brawn: “Gigasword.” This side-scrolling fantasy title has players try to solve a variety of puzzles and brain teasers to pass through different chambers, while using your sword to cut down enemies.

“Super Mario Galaxy” and “Super Mario Galaxy 2” are being rereleased in a bundle for the Switch and Switch 2! Follow Mario on an adventure in the stars, as he tries to save galaxies from the likes of Bowser and other sinister forces! Use various powerups, jump across platforms, and discover new worlds!

THE NEXT DAY ON THE THIRD…

“Borderlands 4” is coming to the Switch 2! Take control of a mercenary looking to hunt for treasures in alien vaults, while enjoying the gameplay fans of the franchise know and love. Players can play solo or team up with friends, as they gain new skills and abilities.

The fantasy RPG “Digimon Story: Time Stranger!” Travel between the real and digital world (where Digimon reside), and embark on a journey to save both worlds from destruction. Choose from 450 available Digimon, customize their abilities and fighting styles, and explore everything both worlds have to offer.

ON OCTOBER 7th…

Build and explore your own dungeon in “King of Meat” This co-op party platformer allows players to customize their own dungeon, before letting friends and other players explore them and all of the challenges they have to offer. The game will be available for Switch, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5.

In the fantasy, SNES-inspired RPG “Shrine’s Legacy,” play as a pair of heroes that must save their land by restoring an ancient power. The game is available for Steam.

THEN ON THE NINTH…

The side-scrolling fantasy title “Absolum.” Choose from a selection of four different warriors and go on a quest to save the world from a powerful monarch. Use rapid combos to defeat enemies, unlock new powerups and abilities, and find mysterious secrets along the way. The game is available for the Switch, PC, and PlayStation.
ON OCTOBER 10th…

Hit the frontlines in the first-person shooter “Battlefield 6!” The game features a cinematic campaign mode, where players will join an elite squad of marines, and try to help save the world from a plot that could bring potentially lead to the collapse of civilization. There’s also a multiplayer mode, where players can go head-to-head in team deathmatch gameplay. The game is available for PlayStation, X-box, and Switch

In “Barbie Horse Trails,” become a ranger at Ken’s family forest park and ride through the wilderness! Choose and care for your own horse, customize your character’s appearance, explore the entire forest, and capture moments and views with your camera. The game is available for all consoles and Switch.

Next is the puzzle-platformer horror title “Little Nightmares 3!” Play as a pair of friends trapped in a nightmare, and deal with deadly beings that are hiding in the shadows, looking to cause you harm. Solve mysteries to find your path forward, defeat a variety of enemies, and face your fears! The game is available on all consoles and PC.

A rerelease of the 2010 fighting game “Ys Vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga!” Gameplay is a mix of “Super Smash Bros.” and “Final Fantasy” as players will have to choose a fighter and go head-to-head in fast-style combat! It will be available for the Switch, PlayStation, and PC.

ON OCTOBER 14th…

Hit the dancefloor in “Just Dance 2026!” Like previous games in the rhythm-based franchise, players will have to mimic the choreography of an on-screen dancer to a tune of their choice. Some of the songs confirmed for the game include Coldplay’s “Viva la Vida,” Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra,” Post Malone’s “I Had Some Help,” and Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.” The game is available for the Switch, PlayStation, and X-Box.

THEN ON THE SIXTEENTH…

Ger ready to catch them all in “Pokemon Legends Z-A!” Players will take control of a trainer in Lumiose City in the Kalos Region, and will get to partake in the classic gameplay fans love: catching a variety of Pokemon, battle other trainers, and even unlock mega evolutions! The game is available for the Switch and the Switch 2!

THE NEXT DAY ON THE SEVENTEENTH…

Get into the holiday spirit early with “The Elf on the Shelf: Christmas Heroes!” This side-scrolling platformer has players take control of one of Santa’s elves and help him get ready to deliver toys on Christmas Eve. Customize your own elf, play a variety of minigames, and complete tasks to help spread some holiday cheer!

ON OCTOBER 21st…

It’s a zoo-simulator but with dinosaurs in “Jurassic World 3 Evolution!” Help life find a way by building and developing your own Jurassic Park and filling it with the prehistoric beasts and other attractions! Construct tools to help you build your park, build exhibits, genetically modify your own dinosaurs, and build a global network of parks! It will be available for PlayStation, PC, and X-Box.

There’s also the action-adventure “Ninja Gaiden 4!” Grab your sword and cut down all the enemies that stand in your way with fast-paced gameplay and different combos… available for PC, X-Box, and PlayStation!

And just in time for Halloween, there is the fantasy RPG “Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2!” Take control of a vampire that has awaken after a long slumber and hunt your way through modern-day Seattle as you revisit a case that could threaten both the undead and the rest of society. Customize your own character, use magical abilities to take down enemies, and more! The game is available for PlayStation, X-box, and PC.

NUMEROUS GAMES ARE SET TO BE RELEASED OCTOBER 23rd…

A remaster of the classic title “Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted!” Defend your home from hordes of the undead by planting a variety of plants with unique powerups. The game is available for all consoles and Steam.

Another remaster is also available for the side-scrolling action title “Double Dragon Revive!” Take control of a pair of martial arts brothers and fight your way through a sprawling city to retake it from a powerful threat. Use a wide range of combos and powerups to beat groups of thugs and use strategy to face down new challenges. The game is available for PC, PlayStation, and X-Box.

In the 2D “dungeon crawler “The Crazy Hyper-Dungeon Chronicles,” make your way through a number of mind-bending labyrinths while fighting different types of monsters. Customize your fighting technique, unlock new weapons, and discover hidden secrets along the way! The game will be available for PC.

Save the day with the power of friendship in the action R-P-G “The Lonesome Guild!” Lead a ragtag group of animated characters on an adventure to save the world from despair and hopelessness! Solve puzzles, defeat enemies, and learn new powerups by increasing the strength of your friendships with allies. The game is available for PC, PlayStation, and X-Box.

And let the good times roll (literally) in “Once Upon a Katamari!” Take control of a king that mistakenly destroyed the night sky, and literally use an energy sphere to roll across different periods of time to rebuild the stars, moon, and sun! It will be available for X-box, PC, and PlayStation.

ON OCTOBER 29th…

The sequel to the award-winning RPG “The Outer Worlds 2!” Travel throughout the stars and uncover the secrets of dangerous rifts that could destroy the galaxy! Players will eventually find themselves on an alien world and will have to make decisions that could determine the fate of themselves, their crew, and the rest of all life. The game is available for X-box, PC, and PlayStation.

THE NEXT DAY ON THE 30th…

“Arc Raiders” is a third-person shooter where players will have to craft gear and weapons in a post-apocalyptic world. Players can either go it alone, or team up with three friends while navigating around deadly robotic threats and enemy forces. The game will be available for PC, PlayStation, and X-box.

AND ON HALLOWEEN, OCTOBER 31st…

The fantasy RPG “Dragon Quest 1” and its sequel, “Dragon Quest 2,” getting a remake with “Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake!” Take control of a warrior descended from an ancient evil, assemble a group of allies, and set out to save your kingdom from dark monsters and other sinister threats. The combat is turn-based and requires players to use weapons, allies, and magical abilities to achieve victory. The game will be available for all consoles and PC.

Fight for the future of humanity in “Terminator 2D: No Fate!” In a story based on the hit film “Terminator: Judgement Day,” play as both Sarah Connor and the T-800 and try to stop Skynet’s plans from killing John Connor and dooming the human race. The game is a side-scrolling shooter where players will have to take down different types of mechanized enemies. The game will be available for all consoles and PC.

And a remaster of the action-adventure title, “Tales of Xilla: Remastered!” Play as a medical student that must set out on a quest with a mysterious new ally through a world filled with powerful spirits to save the world from a destructive weapon! The combat requires players to pair up with allies to unleash powerful attacks, and strategy to fight a range of enemies. The game will be available for all consoles and PC.

FOR THOSE WITH PLAYSTATION PLUS ESSENTIAL

Three new games will be available on October 7th.

First is the survival horror title "Alan Wake II.” This award-winning title has players follow two different but connected stories involving an F-B-I agent trying to solve a murder, and an author trapped in an alternate dimension trying to escape. Uncover a supernatural, dark threat as you witness the events of the story, encounter many twists to solve the crime, and try to retain what sanity you have left.

Venture across worlds in the 3-D puzzle game, "Cocoon." Interact with different alien beings, travel across diverse biodomes, and gain new abilities that will help you through the course of your journey. But be warned... players will encounter the mighty guardians that protect these worlds and must use different mechanics and strategies to defeat each of them.

And it's "Sim City" but with goats in "Goat Simulator 3!" Create and customize your own Goat avatar and prepare to kick or headbutt your way throughout a vibrant city in this open-world Sandbox. Drive vehicles, unlock crazy gadgets like jetpacks, play a wide range of minigames, find treasures and collectibles, and more!

FOR THOSE WITH PLAYSTATION PLUS PREMIUM

The sequel to the classic action-adventure title, "The Last of Us Part 2!" Follow Ellie as she goes on a long, brutal journey to seek revenge against a militia group, and newcomer Abby... who has her own journey focused on vengeance. Gameplay is very similar to the first installment with players using a wide range of weapons to fight both zombie-like monsters and armed soldiers, crafting tools, and managing resources carefully.

COMING TO X-BOX GAME PASS

It's a family trip around the world in "Peppa Pig: World Adventures!" Customize your own character, follow Peppa and her family as they venture all around the world, and do a bunch of fun activities along the way… from eating pizza in Italy to walking the red carpet in Hollywood.

The 3D adventure R-P-G "Visions of Mana!" - Set off on an adventure to save your kingdom by restoring the power of Mana. Gameplay features players using weapons and powerups to fight a wide range of enemies and includes a vast world for players to explore for treasures and hidden secrets.

Follow Lara Croft in a brand-new adventure in "Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light!" Either go it alone or team up with a friend in co-op and set off to find an ancient artifact in Central America. Explore different locations, solve puzzles to move forward, fight various types of enemies, and survive traps in this action-adventure title.

FOR NINTENDO SWITCH ONLINE

There are no new games for Nintendo Switch Online this week.

NOW AVAILABLE ON STEAM

There is the fast-paced 2D shooter “Deathswitch Combat" Either grab a weapon or hop into a vehicle and go up against hordes of enemy forces. Customize your own weapons, create maps, and play one of the many available game modes. There is a single player option, as well as a multiplayer mode for online team-based matchups.

There is also the strategy game "Lazergrrl!" Players will have to build their own fortresses and try to destroy the opposing players with lasers and explosives. The gameplay is very fast-paced and requires players to use strategy to outwit and outpower opponents.

In the dungeon-crawler "Incorporeal," players will take control of a treasure hunter that literally uses soul power to avoid traps and defeat enemies. Solve puzzles, avoid attacks that harm the body and spirit, discover hidden relics, and use different strategies to face dangers along the way.

And there's fantasy M-M-O-R-P-G "Blade and Soul Heroes!" Assemble a team of up to five heroes and go on a journey to seek justice against an evil cult. The combat is a mix of both turn-based strategy and real-time action, requiring players to use different strategies and abilities to face enemies. Unlock new heroes, gain skills and abilities, and explore different locations as you go on your quest.

AND FROM THE EPIC GAMES STORE

The multiplayer fantasy title "Firestone Online Idle R-P-G." Collect a wide range of heroes and either send them into battle against monstrous bosses... or against other players in P-V-P combat. Gain rare collectibles and rewards, achieve new upgrades, and join live chats with friends or other players. The game will be available from October 2nd through the ninth.

Also available is the first-person, open world survival title "Nightingale." Travel across different magical realms and survive all the dangers and hardships along the way. Craft tools, enhance your weapons with magical abilities, fight a wide range of dark creatures, and explore ancient ruins and locations for hidden secrets. The game is also available for one week starting October 2nd.
