***CLOSED*** Grand Opening…Grand Closing. This indoor playground in NYC didn’t even make it past a year. We’re not surprised at all. Get your popcorn 🍿, and tea 🫖 for this one. Y’all b’s & m’s know you all want the gossip 😂.
We were told we could come down there to get some footage, and feel for a write up. We arrive, the same day we were told we could come down, in the pouring rain 🌧️, no less, and upon arrival, we introduce ourselves to the same individual spoken to on the phone📱.
She then proceeds to tell us that she doesn’t think it is a good idea. I look around at not only the clientele, as well as she, but also this was in Feb., when organization were in their neighborhood, taking ppl away, so it was figured, she’s just afraid her clientele and she, possibly, along with other employees, if any, and the owner/s will get taken away ✈️. First thoughts.
Anywho, we assure her that we are not apart of some undercover operation, and show credentials, and receipts. It was to our thought process that she was the owner, or at least manager, at first, being she approved the visit. Upon arrival, it was made to be clear that she didn’t have any business making this decision, or somewhere along the line, someone else was notified, and disapproved it, or she changed her mind. Whatever. Unprofessional. There wasn’t even a reason we were given, and so we cane to our own conclusions.
All we wanted to do was help them, so they stay open, and NOT shut down. It’s a shame when companies (especially smaller one’s) just don’t get it. Most aren’t used to those helping them out, with nothing in exchange, so it’s difficult to trust someone so trustworthy.
It’s understood that English was not the 1st language of the individual who we spoke with, but don’t have ppl like that working for you, and if they’re fam, or were 🛣️ here, and you’re putting them to work, bc let’s not act like that doesn’t happen this day and age (Get your heads out of the clouds ☁️.), then at least have someone who speaks fluent English working at your establishment. IDC if the neighborhood, and the majority of your clientele is this or that. Just look at the entrance arch that states, “no Entrance,” that was CLEARLY not ONLY the entrance, but exit, as well.
We didn’t blow any smoke 💨 in our first post, and it was a positive one, letting those know this place was open for play and parties 🎉, but now that it’s closed, let the truth be told. This isn’t anything that would’ve affected anyone else’s visit, but this was just our experience, and situation.
Most wouldn’t wish them the best at a different type of business venture, or in the future, and so, as long as it’s nothing to do with another indoor playground, we will wish them the BEST.
