Remembering Mark Harmon’s Return to NCIS

When Mark Harmon returned as Leroy Jethro Gibbs, fans of NCIS were thrilled to see the iconic character back on screen. Years after his departure, Gibbs stepped into NCIS: Origins, bringing with him the familiar intensity, wit, and leadership that had defined the franchise. Veterans Day provided a poignant backdrop, as audiences recalled how the show expertly balanced personal stakes with the procedural tension fans had loved for decades.

Viewers remembered the suspense of long-hidden secrets surfacing, old colleagues returning, and unresolved questions finally being addressed. The trailer’s haunting line, “The past doesn’t stay buried, boss,” sparked endless speculation among fans about who had summoned Gibbs and what challenges awaited him. Social media buzzed with theories, and every scene reignited the emotional connection viewers had with the character, making the return feel both nostalgic and thrilling.

Mark Harmon is currently reprising his role in NCIS: Origins, with the special event set to air soon, giving fans a chance to witness Gibbs confronting the past and continuing the legacy of one of television’s most enduring characters.

Call the Midwife is entering an exciting new era with two major projects in development. First, a feature film set in 1972 will take some of our favourite characters on a cinematic journey far from Poplar. While the destination remains a secret, creators promise visually stunning locations, powerful emotions, and a story worthy of the big screen.

In addition, a prequel series set during the Blitz in WWII is also underway. This series will explore Poplar in wartime, introducing younger versions of familiar characters alongside new heroes whose courage and resilience shaped the earliest days of the midwives and nuns we know and love. Both projects are guided by creator Heidi Thomas and executive producers Dame Pippa Harris and Ann Tricklebank.

Meanwhile, Series 15 continues to bring the heart of Nonnatus House to life, including a special two-part Christmas adventure set in Hong Kong. With these new ventures, Call the Midwife promises a thrilling, heartfelt future for fans old and new.
