A few years back I had the chance to meet and interview Jane Goodall, and afterwards snuck my kids in to meet her, too. They had read her books, seen her films, connected to her in that way children do, with wonder and admiration. I remember that the interview was great, but that Jane truly beamed when she saw my kids come in, and took time to talk with them. She seemed to see the world through kids eyes -- aware of its complexity and failings, but believing in its magic and possibilities. To a true original.

The Towers of Light always catch me by surprise amidst daily life in NYC. They evoke many layers of remembrance. From my childhood anchored by those landmark buildings, to the day they came down and changed our world, to the NOVA documentary I had the honor of working on for the 10th anniversary...and now to an archive film project that takes me back full circle. History and memory are textured experiences.

Shout out for , the latest film from Anna Bowden and Ryan Fleck. Just got to see a preview and it will delightfully transport you to the heyday of the 80's along a genre-skipping, pulp-inflected ride. Loved the retro-video and surprise cameos!

I had the unique experience to follow the rebuilding of ground zero for the series and was given this sketch of the Freedom Tower by architect David Childs. Today, Childs passed away at the age of 83. As the son of an architect, I know that they live on in monuments and buildings that transform everyday experience. New Yorks skyline bears the mark of David Childs and it was an honor to work closely with him.
