TEDDY lovers should drop heart for them

We’ve been laying low this past week. I had a minor surgery and honestly, between that and the doghouse build, I think we all just needed a breather. But we’re getting back in the groove…new videos are coming, and I’ll be back working on the doghouse this weekend. The goal is to have it finished by the end of September so we can film all the fun Halloween and Christmas content in and around it.

Teddy, Roo, and Archie are all doing amazing…healthy, happy, and keeping us on our toes. Roo’s still the sweetest puppy, and Teddy and Archie adore her. We’re very blessed!

When Bella, a pit bull mix, was spotted darting through traffic and barking at strangers, most people saw just another stray causing a commotion. But Bella wasn’t lost—she was on a mission.

Teri, one of the pedestrians that day, felt something different in Bella’s desperate eyes. Instead of walking away, she followed her. Bella led Teri through streets and across corners until they reached a quiet home. What they found inside was nothing short of a miracle.

Bella’s owner, a wheelchair-bound man, was lying on the floor, clinging to life. He had suffered stab wounds to his neck and couldn’t call for help. But Bella could. And she did.

Thanks to her brave and loyal heart, help arrived just in time. Her owner survived—and credits Bella with saving his life.

She wasn’t just a pet. She was a hero. 🐾❤️

Living with a Great Dane means adjusting to a whole new kind of “normal.” My friend Sarah has a Dane named Moose, and spending a week at her place felt like staying with a very large, very polite roommate who just happens to be covered in fur.

For starters, forget personal space. Moose doesn’t just follow you from room to room, he shadows you like a bodyguard. Bathroom? He’s there. Kitchen? He’s there. Try to sneak a snack at midnight? Moose materializes out of nowhere and stares like a disappointed parent until you share.

Then there’s the furniture situation. Sarah once bought a brand new sectional couch, and I swear Moose thinks it was custom-built for him. He doesn’t sprawl out like most dogs. Instead, he sits upright on it like a person, back against the cushions, paws hanging over the edge, head tilted at the TV. The first time I saw him sitting there watching cartoons with the kids, I nearly cried laughing.

But my favorite thing about Moose is how he interacts with people outside the house. At 170 pounds, strangers cross the street when they see him coming. The irony? He’s terrified of butterflies. One fluttered past us on a walk and this massive dog actually hid behind me, peeking around my leg like a toddler. Meanwhile, a group of kids ran up, and Moose just froze, then very carefully bent down so they could pet him. He stayed perfectly still the whole time, tail thumping like a drum.

By the end of the week, I realized something: Great Danes don’t just take up space in your house, they take up space in your life in the best way possible. They demand your attention, they keep you laughing, and they somehow manage to be both giant clowns and gentle protectors all at once.

You probably already knew your dog loves you - but science says your dog feels it just like you do.

A study from Japan found that when dogs and their humans lock eyes, something incredible happens in both their bodies.
They both get a strong spike in oxytocin, the same hormone that helps babies bond with their parents.

Oxytocin is sometimes called the “love hormone.”
It’s released during hugs, close contact, and moments of emotional connection.
Turns out, looking into your dog’s eyes works the same way.

Researchers at Azabu University studied how dogs and owners interact.
When dogs held eye contact with their humans for longer periods, both the dog and the person had significantly higher oxytocin levels.
It was strongest in female dogs and owners, but the effect was seen in both men and women.

What’s really interesting is that this response didn’t happen with wolves raised by humans.
It seems to be a special bond that dogs evolved to share with us.

The researchers even gave dogs a little boost of oxytocin through a nasal spray, and the dogs then stared even longer at their humans.
That caused an even bigger spike in oxytocin for the people too.

In simple terms - your dog looks at you and feels love.
You look back and feel the same.

This might explain why the human-dog connection feels so deep.
It’s not just loyalty.
It’s biology.

Her name is Apricot, and the first thing you noticed was how much she looked like a little deer—legs too thin to hold her, eyes too big for her fragile face. She was curled up by the side of the road, too weak to stand, too tired to care.

Her body was covered in fleas, her belly bloated from worms, her ribs sharp under dull, thinning fur. She didn’t bark. She didn’t run. She just waited—quiet, broken, and alone. No collar. No one coming back.

Most people drove past without a second glance. But one woman stopped. 💔 She scooped up Apricot and made a silent promise: You won’t be invisible anymore. What followed wasn’t instant healing—but it was the start of a miracle. 🐾

I saw this and it hit me right in the heart.

If you’ve ever had a dog that’s grown old by your side, you’ll understand. Walks used to be about energy and excitement - tugging on the leash, sniffing every blade of grass, chasing after squirrels. But now, they’re slower.

There’s more stopping, more resting, maybe a little limping. And that’s okay.

Because now the walk isn’t about getting anywhere fast. It’s about being there - together. It’s about showing up even when the legs are stiff and the pace is slow.

It’s about loyalty, love, and the kind of quiet companionship that doesn’t need words.

Our dogs give us everything they have for their entire lives. Their youth, their energy, their joy. And when they get older, they ask for so little in return. Just time.

Just presence. Just love. That same old walk might not look the same, but it still means the world to them - and to us.

So if your dog is aging, take the walk. Let them sniff. Let them rest. Let them move at their own pace. The walk might be slower, but the bond is deeper than ever.

To all the senior dogs out there - thank you for still walking beside us. You may be slower now, but your love has never lost its pace. 🖤🐾
