World indoor 800m record holder .hodgkinson steps outside her comfort zone Thursday at the Golden Gala Diamond League in Rome, lining up in the 400m against some of the best one-lap specialists in the world.

During the World Indoor 4x400m final in March (less than an hour after winning the 800m in a championship record), Hodgkinson ran the fastest split in the relay at 50.10. She also ran 51.49 in an unchallenged solo 400m indoors earlier this year.

Russell now owns seven of the 20 best hurdle times in world history, and today’s mark is just .02 off Tobi Amusan’s world record of 12.12.

First national title for Schweizer since the 10,000m final at the 2022 USATF Outdoor Championships. 🇺🇸 🥇
