Here is a post that you may or may not agree with. How important is quality leadership? If you are a fan of soccer, and specifically the USWNT I would challenge that the reason we have failed to make the finals in the last two Olympics is the lack of a true on-field and locker room leader. Not just any leader - one in specific - Christie Rampone. Do you think it is a coincidence that in the last two Olympics we failed to make the final or win a Gold Medal were the first two Olympics that Christie was not on the roster. Both times they had Meagan Rapinoe, Carli Lloyd and others, but no Christie. The value of a true leader is perhaps most felt when there is a lack of leadership. Here is a quote from the FIFA website: "Christie Pearce Rampone stands alone at the top of the all-time medals podium in Olympic Football Tournament history – men's or women's – with four. Throughout a highly-decorated career, the USA defender won three gold medals (2004, 2008 and 2012) and one silver (2000). In every edition she competed in, she won a medal." I typically don't believe in coincidences.... #leadership #sports #soccer
For me, the "Highlights" buttons in the NWSL website schedule (displayed beside games that have been played) don't lead to any videos that actually play. Anyone else have the same experience or able to offer a fix? Thanks

Is there going to be a 2021 NWSL draft? 2020 will be the "Year of the Red Shirt" for college athletes. If I was on athletic scholarship right now I'd be really concerned about my future. The NWSL draft 1st draft pick? let me guess Catarina Macario, Stanford.

Super Kudos to the Equalizer Team in their 49th Podcast on the status of the USWNT following their draws against Japan & England in the SBC for their objective criticism of the USWNT .... and especially Jill Ellis for her selection process and tinkering on positions To their question on the back line, why did they not mention HUERTA as a wing-back ? Sure I agree that Short should be used; but you need another alternative; Sonnett is a natural CB ... move her into that position that she is quite familiar.... Thus you have 4 CBs (Brunn, Dahlkemper, Davidson & Sonnett) plus 4 outside wing backs (Dunn, O'Hara, Short & Huerta) to choose from .... Also concur that Dunn has not been focused .... Someone needs to wake her up ..... Tell Riley to give her a call .....
