Need some opinions before I jump on this deal. 👀

Found a Husqvarna YT42LS with the Kawasaki FR600V engine, 42” deck, and only 259 hours on it. The thing honestly looks super clean in the photos and the owner says it’s been well maintained.

They’re asking $750.

From what I’ve seen, the Kawasaki engines alone seem to have a really solid reputation, so this feels almost *too* good to pass up. I’ve been hunting for a mower that’s reliable without spending brand-new money, and this one has my attention big time.

For those who know these machines:

* Is the YT42LS a solid mower overall?
* Anything specific I should check before buying?
* At $750, is this actually a steal… or am I missing something?

Trying not to get blinded by how clean it looks and the price tag. 😂 Any advice is appreciated!

Hoping someone here can save me from completely losing my mind. 😅

My Husqvarna riding mower randomly lost *all* power today. I shut it off for maybe 30 seconds to open a gate, hopped back on, turned the key… and absolutely nothing. No crank, no click, no lights, nothing.

Battery tests good.

While looking things over, I noticed these 3 wires hanging down underneath and it looks like they may have gotten chewed up by the blades. My guess is they maybe went to the hood/headlights or some kind of safety switch, but I honestly can’t tell.

I’ve:

* checked the battery connections
* looked over the fuses
* checked visible wiring/connectors
* tried looking at wiring diagrams online

…and I’m still stumped.

Could these cut wires really cause the mower to lose ALL power? Or am I chasing the wrong thing completely?

Any help or ideas would be seriously appreciated before I start tearing the whole thing apart. 😂

Picked up these two John Deere X-series tractors for $1200 and I’m still convinced there’s been some kind of administrative error.

Because according to current marketplace economics:

* one broken mower deck spindle = $900
* faded paint adds “patina”
* and “ran when parked” apparently increases value somehow

Yet somehow I ended up with:

* a 2019 X350 with only 100 hours
* AND a 2011 X320 with 200 hours

Both cleaner than they have any right to be.

At this point I’m afraid to even ask what the seller thought they were worth because I might get arrested retroactively.

Absolutely unreal.

An acquaintance of mine is selling this John Deere LT180 and I’m trying to figure out if it’s actually a good deal or if I’m about to buy an expensive lawn ornament. 😅

He says:

runs great
no known issues
around 410 hours
includes the mower deck AND bagger system

He’s asking $1,000 for everything.

Problem is… I know absolutely NOTHING about these older Deere tractors. 😂

From what little I’ve gathered, some people seem to love the LT series and say they were built way better than newer entry-level models, but I honestly don’t know what I should be looking for or what common problems these have.

So I figured I’d ask the people who actually know these machines:

Is $1,000 fair for an LT180 with 410 hours?
Is 410 hours considered low/moderate/high for one of these?
Anything specific I should inspect before buying?
Are these generally reliable long-term?

Appreciate any advice before I accidentally impulse-buy another mower. 😅

Well… I officially bought my first riding mower and I’m oddly excited about it. 😂

Picked up a 2010 Husqvarna YTH2348 with:

triple bagger
wagon included
around 600 hours
paid $800

For someone who’s only used push mowers before, this thing feels like a luxury vehicle. 😅

The engine runs really strong and overall it seems to be in pretty fair shape for its age. The only thing I noticed is a little seepage around one of the seals, but nothing pouring out or immediately alarming.

Now I’m sitting here hoping I either:

scored a solid deal…
or at minimum
didn’t just buy myself an expensive new hobby fixing lawn equipment. 😂

So what do you guys think?
Did I do alright for $800 with the bagger and wagon included?

Either way, I’m pretty sure mowing just became a lot less miserable.

Looking for some mower deck wisdom from the experts because this thing is driving me crazy. 😅

Ever since I installed a bagger kit and put on a new blade, my mower has started cutting really uneven. On bumpy or uneven terrain, one side/blade will actually dig into the ground instead of just floating over it.

Now every mow turns into:

* random scalped patches
* uneven cuts
* me stopping every 5 minutes to inspect the deck 😂

I snapped a few pictures in case something obvious stands out to people who know these decks better than I do.

Not sure if:

* the deck is sitting crooked
* a wheel/bracket is bent
* blade installed wrong
* wrong blade type
* bagger setup changed the deck height somehow
* or I messed something up during install

Would really appreciate any feedback or things I should check before I start randomly tearing parts off. 🙏

I am officially losing my mind trying to figure this mower deck out. 😅

I bought brand new blades, had them sharpened and balanced, installed them with a torque wrench to the correct ft-lbs… and somehow things got WORSE instead of better.

First it sounded like the blades were hitting the deck.

So I:

* took them back off
* reseated everything carefully
* checked installation again

…and NOW it almost seems like the blades are hitting EACH OTHER when I jack the mower up and rotate them by hand. 🤯

I also went through the process of leveling the deck:

* left side = 3”
* right side = 3”
* front = 3”
* rear = 3.5”

But here’s where I’m confused:
I have no idea how to lower *just* the rear of the deck to get the recommended rake of only about 1/8–1/4” higher in the back.

And honestly… even with those measurements, why does the deck visually look SO high in the rear? The thing looks completely unbalanced from the side. (See pic)

At this point I’m wondering:

* did I somehow install the wrong blades?
* spindle issue?
* deck bent?
* blades upside down?
* timing issue?
* am I just overthinking the geometry?

I’ve been crawling around under this mower for hours and I feel like I’m going insane. 😂

Any advice from people who’ve dealt with Deere decks before would seriously be appreciated.

I never thought I’d say this in my life… but I genuinely cannot wait to mow the lawn now. 😂

Just picked up my very first riding mower — a John Deere X350 — and I’m probably way more excited about this than a grown adult should be. 😅

Something about finally having a machine that can handle the yard without feeling like a full-day workout just feels incredibly satisfying.

I already know I’m about to start looking for excuses to mow:

* grass too tall?
* mow.
* grass too short?
* believe it or not… mow. 😂

I officially joined the John Deere club today… under circumstances I wish were a little different. 💚💛

My parents recently downsized to a smaller home, and yesterday my dad gave me his Deere. We found out last week that he has lymphoma along with some other serious health issues, so this mower suddenly means a lot more to me than “just a mower.”

Honestly, it feels pretty special having something I know he spent years using and taking care of.

It’s already a massive upgrade from my old 2009 Craftsman that I immediately put up for consignment. 😂

Right now it’s set up with mulching blades, but it doesn’t have the sealed mulch deck cover/plug and I’d like to get one before next spring.

Problem is… I know basically nothing about John Deere stuff yet. 😅

So I’m wondering:

* Do I need to buy the mulch kit/cover directly from Deere?
* Or do aftermarket/universal kits work okay?
* Any recommendations on the best route to go?

Looking forward to learning this machine and keeping it going for a long time. Feels like this one’s got a little sentimental value attached to it now.

Went to sharpen my mower blades today and discovered… whatever horror movie ecosystem this is underneath the deck. 😅

At first I thought it was just packed grass clippings, but then I noticed all the white fuzzy stuff growing around it and now I’m wondering if I accidentally discovered some kind of dangerous mold/fungus colony.

Has anyone seen this before?
Is this just normal decomposing wet grass buildup, or something I should actually be concerned about breathing in/handling?

Mostly asking because I was about two seconds away from blasting it with a wire brush before realizing maybe I should ask the internet first. 😂

Any knowledge/advice appreciated!

New vs old JOHN Deere

So I have a 2004 JD L108 bought at Home Depot. Used it every year for 20 years. 1 head gasket,batteries, engine oil ,filters ,and blades. So it was leaking gas around the pickup line. Stopped it with fuel resistant goop. But it really needs a new tank. The tires are worn and patched, never changed the drive belt because I couldn’t remove one of the bolts to get it off. Never even thought about the transmission or its fluids,seat is ripped. So do I put hundreds of dollars into it or move on? A new one equal HP is about 2500.00. Will that get my another 20 years or are the new ones really that bad?
