As the title states, today was our first day learning mig welding at this welding school I'm in and I'm pretty proud of my welds especially having never done this before. I'm posting these because I'm curious to know what more experienced welders think of my welds and any tips or advice for improvement is welcome. Please be kind lol.

I believe the wire speed was 305 and 20.2 volts. First pic is a lap joint, second pic is an added t joint.

First time mig welding and first time doing mig verticals. What can I do better? 2 weeks into the 8 week course in class and I am looking to improve as this will be our qualification at the end of the 8 weeks. Tried to wire wheel the 3rd pass and it turned out like so in the last image if someone can tell me why it looks like that?
