With all of the options out there to publish, it's pretty tempting to just point and click your way to a completed book. It's hard enough to compete in publishing. Put in the effort and put forth your best book. Does your book deserve anything less?

Tip of the day - "Ask for help.
Invite someone else to proofread your text after you have reviewed it. A new set of eyes may immediately spot errors that you've overlooked."
Tip of the day - "Decide what medium lets you proofread most carefully. Some people like to work right at the computer, while others like to sit back with a printed copy that they can mark up as they read."
Tip of the day - "Make a list of "no-no" words and do a search for them before final proof. Include every swear word, words related to product terminology, and other words that pop up on occasion. Then do a "find" for all these words."

Tip of the day - "Read something else between edits. This helps clear your head of what you expect to read and allows you to read what really is on the page. "
Tip of the Day - "Read it backwards to focus on the spelling of words."
Tip of the Day - "Read down columns in a table, even if you're supposed to read across the table to use the information. Columns may be easier to deal with than rows."
