Joseph Grant: Face of War

My buddy Joseph Grant recently had a piece, Face of War, published in Writing Raw. In thirteen pages, Grant is able to take the reader through the mind's-eye of a soldier wounded in battle. Many pieces of literature have revolved around this familiar subject matter, but Joseph Grant takes the idea a

@allisonsarah16 and her debut Loved and Lost turn my blog pink for a day.

Allison Christie, a Twitter connection of mine, has long been trumpeting the independent author horn as loud and often as she is able. Tip of the day - "Ask for help.
Invite someone else to proofread your text after you have reviewed it. A new set of eyes may immediately spot errors that you've overlooked."

Tip of the day - "Decide what medium lets you proofread most carefully. Some people like to work right at the computer, while others like to sit back with a printed copy that they can mark up as they read."

Tip of the day - "Make a list of "no-no" words and do a search for them before final proof. Include every swear word, words related to product terminology, and other words that pop up on occasion. Then do a "find" for all these words."

We have four slots for October edits. Let me know if you need a rushed October edit!

Let me know if you need an affordable and quick editing job :) Lining up my next month's schedule. Thanks!

Tip of the day - "Read something else between edits. This helps clear your head of what you expect to read and allows you to read what really is on the page. "

Tip of the Day - "Read it backwards to focus on the spelling of words."

Tip of the Day - "Read down columns in a table, even if you're supposed to read across the table to use the information. Columns may be easier to deal with than rows."

Tip of the day - "Double check proper names."

Tip of the day - "Carefully read type in very tiny font."

Tip of the day- "Don't proof for every type of mistake at once—do one proof for spelling, another for missing/additional spaces, consistency of word usage, font sizes, etc."

Tip of the day - "Write at the end of the day; edit first thing in the morning. (Usually, getting some sleep in between helps.)"
