Authorities say an 8-year-old girl endured unimaginable abuse and neglect inside the home where she should have felt safest.

According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office, a concerned neighbor's phone call on June 6 may have saved her life.

Investigators say the neighbor reported that the child was often left alone for long periods of time, sometimes overnight, and frequently relied on others for food and clothing because her basic needs were not being met.

What authorities allegedly uncovered next has shocked the community.

Twenty-seven-year-old Naseline Timouche of northwest Miami-Dade was arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse causing great bodily harm and felony child neglect.

According to court documents, investigators found numerous scars and marks on the child.

Authorities say the girl told investigators that she was repeatedly beaten with objects including cords, a frying pan, a spatula, and a charging cable.

She also described severe food deprivation.

According to the arrest report, the child said she was denied regular meals because food in the home was reserved for "guests." Investigators allege she survived by eating expired food and, at times, food she found in the trash.

Following her arrest, Timouche was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. A judge later ordered that she have no contact with her daughter.

The child has since been placed in the care of state child welfare authorities.

As with all criminal cases, the allegations remain accusations until proven in court.

For many, however, one fact stands above the rest.

An 8-year-old little girl is now safe because someone noticed something was wrong and chose to make a call.

Sometimes changing a life begins with refusing to stay silent.

Please keep this child and everyone helping her heal in your thoughts and prayers.

May she find the love, safety, and peace every child deserves.

Three young boys are facing a future no child should ever have to imagine.

Family and friends are mourning the loss of Sharika Hudson, a devoted mother whose loved ones say her entire life revolved around her children.

Those who knew Sharika describe a woman who worked tirelessly, often juggling two jobs, to make sure her sons had everything they needed. She was their biggest supporter, their loudest cheerleader at games, and the person they knew they could always count on.

Loved ones remember her as strong, independent, and incredibly resourceful.

Whether it was changing a tire, rebuilding a wall, grouting a shower, or tackling whatever challenge life placed in front of her, Sharika found a way to get it done.

She loved animals.

She treasured every moment with her boys.

And those closest to her say her smile could light up a room.

"She longed to just be loved and married and happy," a close family friend shared.

Tragically, Sharika was killed in a horrific incident in Carrollton, Georgia.

Now, the three boys she loved so deeply are left trying to navigate life without the mother who was always there for them.

Their aunt has stepped in to care for them as the family struggles to process a loss that still feels impossible to comprehend.

Sharika Hudson was more than a victim of tragedy.

She was a mother.

A provider.

A protector.

And the center of her sons' world.

Please keep Sharika's children, her family, and everyone who loved her in your thoughts and prayers as they face the painful road ahead.

May she rest in peace.

Four years ago a 9-year-old boy watched his mother be forced into a car.

Now her remains have finally been found.

The years between that moment and this one represent everything a child should never have to carry β€” watching someone take your mom and not knowing for years whether she was alive or dead.

Now the family has an answer. Not the one they prayed for.

Details of the investigation and the circumstances surrounding her disappearance and death are still emerging.

But today her name deserves to be said.

Please keep her son, now older and carrying something no child should ever have to carry, and her entire family in your prayers. πŸ’”

Victoria's parents thought she had the flu.

She kept falling asleep the moment she got home from school.

A visit to their family doctor revealed the truth. Her blood sugar had rocketed above 300mg β€” more than double the normal range.

Victoria was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.

What followed was an endless cycle of painful finger-pricks, constant blood sugar alarms and permanent insulin injections.

Now her family is racing against time to preserve what's left.

Victoria's remaining insulin-producing beta cells could potentially be saved through pioneering cellular therapy available in Poland β€” a treatment completely unavailable on the NHS.

The cost is Β£100,000.

If successful the treatment could allow Victoria's body to maintain some natural insulin production, reducing the long-term dangers of the condition β€” including blindness, kidney failure and heart complications.

Her dad Robert said what every parent in this situation would feel.

"Our world collapsed a bit. But we can't give up for her. Like every parent we want to do what's best for our daughter. You hear about these things and think it would never happen to my kid. But then it does."

Victoria. United Kingdom. πŸ’™

Please keep her and her family in your prayers as they fight to raise that Β£100,000. πŸ™

Jacob Smith is 20 years old and in the burn ICU.

Nine days ago a coworker threw scorching hot fryer oil on his face, neck, shoulders, hands and back at McDonald's in Yuba City, California. Second-degree burns covering 22 percent of his body. Skin graft surgery scheduled this week.

His mother heard words no parent should ever hear.

"Why would he do this to me?"

But Jacob chose something different.

From his hospital bed he wrote this:

"As much as I want to be angry β€” it's just so hard to be when I have so many people showing their love for me."

He thanked God for saving his eye. He thanked his family. His friends who check on him every day. His fiancΓ©e Dulce who he called "the most incredible girl I could ever ask for."

And then he left everyone with this:

"Remember everyone to stay loving and kind. If God can bring out the best possible result in the worst situation for me β€” then I believe He can do it for you too."

A 20-year-old man in the burn ICU β€” choosing grace.

And today for the first time β€” he is smiling again.

Billy was his family's sole provider.

He was involved in a devastating accident β€” and in the middle of it he saved a young girl's life.

Billy has since passed away.

His family confirmed he was also an organ donor. He will continue saving lives even now.

His wife Amy has been by his side through every moment β€” unable to work, holding their children together through something no family should ever have to face.

No life insurance. No savings. Medical bills. Daily expenses. Burial costs.

All of it falling on Amy right now.

His sister-in-law said it perfectly when she heard about the young girl he saved.

"What a heartfelt and glorious way to set an example."

A husband. A father. A man who saved a life while losing his own.

Please keep Amy and their children in your prayers. πŸ’”

For years Gina has been the person showing up for animals who had nowhere else to turn.

Walking shelter dogs. Helping with transports. Comforting frightened animals. Making sure rescue pets found their forever homes.

If you've spent time in the local rescue community you've almost certainly crossed paths with her kindness.

This week Gina and her husband Gordon are the ones who need the community to show up for them.

A devastating house fire destroyed much of their home and left them with overwhelming loss.

They are safe. Their four rescue dogs survived.

But their beloved cat Tooie did not make it out.

In just a few hours they lost so much of what made their house a home.

A woman who has spent years protecting animals is now grieving one of her own.

Please keep Gina, Gordon and their family in your hearts right now. πŸ’”

Leland Arnett was 8 years old. Everyone called him Lee.

On the night of May 13th deputies arrived at a home in De Soto, Illinois and found a woman unconscious on the ground and Lee beside her with a serious head wound.

Both were airlifted to a hospital in St. Louis.

Four days later Lee was gone. His injuries were too severe.

His great-aunt Anne told reporters what the family believes happened.

Lee saw his mother being attacked. He stepped in. He tried to stop it.

"This happened because Lee was trying to protect his mom."

His mother Deborah Snider remains hospitalized recovering from her own injuries. She was told about Lee's death from that hospital bed.

She could not attend his funeral. She did not get to say goodbye.

On Thursday Lee was buried in Lincoln, Nebraska. His mother was not there.

Marcus Moultrie, 36, has been charged with two counts of first degree murder and one count of attempted murder.

An 8-year-old boy should never have had to be the one standing between his mother and danger.

Lee Arnett did it anyway.

That is who he was.

Please keep Deborah and their entire family in your prayers as she recovers and grieves at the same time. πŸ’”

David Maldonado-Ocelotl was 28 years old and from Forked River, New Jersey.

On Friday afternoon June 5th four swimmers were caught in a powerful rip current off Long Beach Island near East 21st Street in Ship Bottom.

Multiple agencies responded immediately β€” police, fire, EMS and Surf City Fire.

By the time rescuers arrived three of the swimmers had made it back to shore.

David was still in the water.

Local surfers joined first responders in the search and helped locate him in the surf.

He was found unresponsive and not breathing.

Life-saving efforts were performed right there on the beach. He was rushed to Southern Ocean Medical Center.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Four people went into the water. Three came out.

Rip currents are one of the most dangerous and underestimated hazards at the beach β€” they can pull even strong swimmers away from shore in seconds without warning.

If you're ever caught in a rip current β€” don't fight it head-on. Swim parallel to the shore until you're out of the current, then swim back in.

David Maldonado-Ocelotl. Forked River, New Jersey. 28 years old. πŸ•ŠοΈ

Please keep his family in your prayers. πŸ’”
