The Mid-Autumn Fest is the culmination of an 8-week fundraiser for Meals for Unity. If you cannot attend, please consider donating directly in the link below. Proceeds also go to making the festival a reality. Our mission is to uplift the Asian-American creative community by creating spaces for them to share their art and, importantly, to help them get paid for it so that they can keep making more.

Also known as the Harvest Moon Festival, the Mid-Autumn Fest is an extraordinary opportunity to unite the Asian-American community in celebration of the fruits of our labor throug a day-long celebration—featuring a mix of performers and creators: musicians, dancers, DJs, artisans, culinary masters, creators, martial arts practitioners, visual artists, and comedians. In essence, we were bringing the magic of the Asian Night Market to the heart of Queens.. As we gather under the luminous harvest moon, we will embark on a mission to cultivate community resiliency and sustainable vitality for Asian American-owned entrepreneurs in the entertainment and food service industries.

A day-long festival of NYC’s diverse Asian-American community, featuring performance artists, creators, musicians/DJs, chefs, and artisans.

To clear the air on what happened in Canada and why i didnt make it to Future Forest...i think people dont realize how hard it is to do this DJ thing. I am often traveling alone and going to gigs and shows by myself as a woman of color. No, i dont have a booking agent, and no, im not represented by an agency. Its not easy to have people who can just pick up and go to a camping festival in another country all together with me. I just go where i feel called. I took on very few gigs this year to focus my energy on this, and i saved up my vacation hours from work to explore this opportunity - which, the festival doesnt cover the cost of travel, food, how much i spend to buy new music (2.50 a song), or the money i spend to rent dj equipment to practice cus i cant afford my own CDJs.

So yeah i was absolutely crushed when i was turned away at the border after driving 14hrs from NYC to Maine. I was only 1.5hrs away from the festival. I didnt know you were supposed to declare basic goods like food, alcohol, to***co, and self defense items like a knife and pepper spray, so they didnt like that. And they didnt like that i had New Mexico license plates, which is another border state, and couldnt understand why i had a car full of stuff for a wknd trip. It was dark, i was alone and they took all of the above items after turning all of my belongings inside out, then interrogated me for 3hours with their hand on their gun holster the whole time. They denied me saying that i had insufficient reason to enter the country. Then i turned arnd just to get searched again by US patrol for another hour.

This was my first time in 13yrs trying to leave the country and first chance to dj outside the US. Of course im sad i couldnt get to Future Forest and connect with that community. But u know the festival organizers didnt even check up on me after i emailed them about it. Honestly im just happy to be free from that scary military purgatory, so im trying to just let it go and focus on building myself up for other things.

I look forward to a few more gigs coming up but then gonna focus on production instead of just djing. Thats that. I guess im an enemy of the state for being a girl dj

Afropunk Festival was such an amazing experience this weekend. Erykah Badu shared so much wisdom and love. She reminded us to be fearless, rebellious, to believe in ourselves, and come united through the music 🥹🙏 there was also really good food and i met a lot of beautiful talented people.

Less than 2 months away...i'm gonna be DJing for Future Forest Festival in New Brunswick Canada! 🇨🇦 I'll be at the Nest Stage for a 90minute set on Saturday with my techno and experimental bass style. Also been workin on some of my own recent production I hope to throw in too 😎

So...been kinda quiet lately cus my life has completely turned upside down since this beautiful adorable cat came into my life! I was visiting New Mexico and cleaning my backyard one day when this baby came over and ate some cheese with me🥹 then after a looong emotional rollercoaster, frantic efforts to finding if she had a family (she did not), between conversations with my neighbors and friends about what to do, and also discovering that she was preggos!!!....i finally adopted her and brought her back to nyc.

Lol but now.... ive been trying to blend my family with a household of 4 dogs!! Long story short, everything is going really well. She had found all the cutest spots to poke around and we snuggle and snack nonstop. Dogs are comin around to their new sister, slowly. Life has gotten even more amazing with her around! Everyone pls say hello to Salem Ivy 🐈‍⬛🌿💖

PS. promise not to turn this into a catstagram and music/dj shall resume!! 😝
