It was a personally profound moment for me to interview my producing mentor . Barry shared a story of iconic actor Paul Newman telling him he wasn’t ready to make a particular screenplay into a film because he lacked certain life experiences. Years later, Barry told me something similar regarding my screenplay for Justice For Hire aka JFH]], stating that I wasn’t there yet as a film director. I WAS SO UPSET because I had worked so hard to build the JFH brand across short films and comics and more and had already turned down several indie and Hollywood offers for the project because they weren’t exactly what I wanted. To have Barry say that to be put me on an intense mission to sharpen my directing skills, and put me on the unique path that has put Justice For Hire aka JFH]] and ReelwUrld] in their own lane in the industry. How is The Godfather connected to our startup film technology studio ReelwUrld]]? Aside from having Al Pacino’s producing partner and the man who made Brando’s last film on our Board of Advisors, The Godfather was a core part of the initial pitch for our startup tech studio ReelwUrld years back.

To expand, I used to reference the decapitated horse scene as an example of a “catalyzing event” in any film or show that can work retroactively to expand the story into a cinematic universe. In other words, what other characters interested with the horse before it’s head was cut off. Did they see who did it? What are their stories? Questions such as these are at the core of ReelwUrld]] thinking, and yield storytelling opportunities similar to the premise of the Hawkeye series, which flashes back to a moment in the first Avengers movie to show how Hawkeye’s fight against aliens impacted the lives of then-child Kate Bishop and her family. ReelwUrld’s promise is to craft storytelling technology that allows us all to live as characters in the movies & shows we love, and also create new ones together like .
