Discover the untold story of Juneteenth’s Galveston origins! 🌅 On June 19, 1865, Union troops enforced the Emancipation Proclamation in Galveston, TX—two and a half years after it was signed—freeing over 250,000 enslaved people in Texas. From the public reading of General Orders No. 3 at the Strand to the very first freedom procession at Reedy Chapel, each slide reveals a pivotal moment in Black history.
