Nine new principals will serve Catholic school communities in the Archdiocese of New York beginning in the 2026-2027 school year, the Superintendent of Schools Office confirmed.

The aforementioned principals participated in a three-day Principal Onboarding program from August 11-13 in Ossining, New York, led by Sister Mary Gace Walsh, ASCJ, Ph.D., and Sister Anne Massell, PBVM.

On Tuesday, September 1, the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement will join “area clergy, congregants, and people of faith in gathering along the Hudson River” at the Riverfront Green Park in Peekskill to kick off the 2026 Season of Creation.

“This is a new ecumenical opportunity for people of faith to get together; this is the first time we’re doing this,” Fr. Jim Gardiner, SA, former director of the Graymoor Spiritual Life Center told The Good Newsroom.
