Michel Kuka Mboladinga, who goes by the nickname Lumumba Vea, went viral during this year’s AFCON tournament for posing like the country’s statue of its first prime minister for the entirety of the games. Standing motionless for the entirety of the match, Mboladinga believes, “gives the team emotional stamina.”

While the team is without its biggest fan today, players persuaded Congo President Félix Tshisekedi to include Lumumba Vea in the official delegation, and he expects to be at next week’s match in Atlanta against Uzbekistan, according to The Wall Street Journal.
