From the years he spent as a lead guitarist for the Legends of the Rock World - Aerosmith, Joe Lynn Turner, Johnny Rotten - he had the network. From the late nights recording with Eric Clapton, and Prince at Top Cat, his former studio, he had the knowledge. With formal training
in classical, flamenco, and jazz guitar methods augmenting his intuitive hard rock riffs, he had the talent. Now, with thousands of square feet of fresh and vintage gear packed into the perfect corner of the hippest neighborhood in Manhattan, he had the spot. One after another, RunDMC, Eric B and Rakim, Nas, Mobb Deep, 50 Cent, Alicia Keys...all the soon to be legends all the up and comers. No Mystery Studios had become the premier underground studio for the worlds Hip-Hop scene. Fast forward to today, Aleks has seen it all. He has barricaded himself into the studio office as rival gangs brandish guns and left knives stuck in walls. He has explained to producers the need to extinguish their party favor of choice while more than twenty of New York City's finest look on in bemusement. He's opened the doors to epic parties with the cities elite. And, most importantly, he has imparted his technical and creative wisdom to the brightest stars and stood watch over the nexus of some of the top hits of the last two decades. But he's still a Rocker...and with his skilled ears and enigmatic personality, he's been able to infuse some of the toughest hoods and brightest poets with an appreciation of musical worlds far beyond anything they had experienced before.
