Hi All,

I'm excited to share a year-long project to explore spatial audio for narrative podcasts in close partnership with R&D and the Audio team at The New York Times.

In particular, we were interested in tackling the full pipeline so in addition to the guide, check our spatial audio player on Glitch which can be remixed and used elsewhere.

Spatial audio is changing the way we experience recorded sound, making it possible to add entirely new layers of sonic presence to narrative storytelling mediums. 1st record of release of the year! just released a lovely EP thats equal parts intimate lo-fi and just as lush. After mastering it, I was asked to bring back those lo-fi mic plosives that I had cleaned up:) I love attention to detail like that.

Its official, Bear Call Mastering is an Apple Digital Masters certified studio, even for Hindi or Greek releases, but then again we've been mastering for Apple MFiT since it was released in 2012.

Fantastic new record from Malian guitarist/singer-songwriter Oumar Konaté. Over the last year I've had the pleasure to work on several west african records from Clermont Music. This is one of my favorites.⁠

All week long, Aaron Novik is in residence at John Zorn’s experimental nonprofit venue The Stone. To celebrate, he's releasing his EP, "The Fallow Curves of the Planosphere" mastered here at . He's set to unveil five EPs’ worth of material that have been incubating amidst the bass clarinetist’s myriad musical involvements, which include Fred Frith’s Gravity band, his own ensembles No Signal, O+O+, Dante Counterstamp, and his comic book/album series Frowny Frown. ⁠

Alpha Ousmane “Hama” Sankaré (aka Pedro) is a legend. He is a renowned composer, arranger, vocalist, and calabash player from Mali whose reputation grew rapidly working with Ali Farka Touré as well as le Troupe Regionale de Niafunké, l’Orchestre de Gao, Songhoy Allstars, and Mamadou Kelly. We are super excited to to be part of his second release, Niafunke. The album continue to explore the traditions of the city of Niafunké in Mali, in West Africa. Both of Sankare's albums released on and available now.

Super excited about the re-release of Tara Jane O’Neil’s album “A Ways Away”. It’s one of my favorite albums of the last 10 years. It’s always a pleasure to work on TJO records, starting with with ‘You Sound, Reflect’ 15 years ago.
