Kicking off this week’s episode with a festive Grinch Drink — because nothing says holiday vibes like 4 different boozes in one glass. Vodka, rum, Midori, and blue curacao… it’s basically Christmas spirit in a cup. Oh, and yes — Doonie the dog demanded some screen time too.

Why are so many women chasing attention over connection? 👀 In today’s world, too many are choosing quantity over quality—confusing validation for value. If you’re picking partners based on attention instead of intention… it might be time to reevaluate what really matters in a relationship.

If your relationship is truly good, why does it still feel like hard work? Are you more connected? Communicating better? Having more intimacy? Or are you just surviving?
Let’s break down what makes a relationship actually great. ⬇️

🚨 Compromise isn’t what you think it is. 🚨
Too often, 'compromise' just means one person does whatever they want while the other silently resents it. That’s not a solution—it’s a ticking time bomb. 💥 Real solutions remove the actual problem, not just cover it up.
What’s a relationship issue you thought you solved, but it just kept coming back? 🤔👇

Have you ever wondered how fairy tales might actually be more about deception than romance? 🤔 Let's talk about the classic love stories that are totally not what they seem! For instance, Beauty and the Beast—yeah, the Beast may have been misunderstood, but he did kidnap Belle! 😅 It’s like every fairy tale couple has some kind of sketchy backstory, huh?
And honestly, Gaston might’ve been a better match for Belle! Dude owned a bar, was a hunter, and tried to rescue her. Maybe we need a Gaston movie where he's the hero instead! 😂

As a child, we adored Disney movies, but now can't help but notice the lies woven into the love stories—let's dive into that! 😂 From Aladdin’s 'lie to win her heart' to Hercules and Meg’s complicated romance, Disney really knows how to keep us hooked. But when you look closely... maybe not all fairy tales are as perfect as we remember. 🧐
We love these movies, but let’s be real—can we base real relationships on these wild plots? 🤔

What makes Rocky and Adrian the ultimate couple? 🥊💘 We had to debate their place on our list, but they definitely made a strong case! While they’re not number one, there’s a solid argument for them being the top couple. What do you think? 🤔
We put a lot of thought into this list, and it’s not just about rankings – it's about why these couples resonate with us. And trust us, we don't agree with every popular list out there! 🙅‍♂️

Welcome to Marriage on the Rocks!

We are Seth and Crystal Karnes, thank you for visiting Marriage On The Rocks! We’ve created this podcast to talk about love, marriage, relationships, and what has and hasn’t worked for us.

Our story began in 2010, we worked together and became friends. From what started as a friendship ended up becoming the best decision that changed both of our lives. You see, when we met we were both in horrible relationships with the wrong people. Once that marriage and engagement ended we started dating and got married a couple years later. What we have learned the most from our previous relationships and our marriage now is that relationships don’t take hard work if you’re with the right person.

We realize that everyone is not the same and what may work for us might not work for you, we just hope that some of our discussions will at least get you thinking and maybe get you on the right path to a successful relationship. Thanks again for visiting and happy listening!
