Abia State Governor Alex Otti has visited Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), at a prison facility in Sokoto State. He was accompanied by Kanu’s younger brother, Emmanuel Kanu; Abia’s Attorney General, Ikechukwu Uwanna (SAN); and his media adviser, Ferdinand Ekeoma. Officials from the Sokoto State Government were also in attendance, according to a statement from the governor’s office.
After the meeting, Otti urged Kanu to stay calm and strong, noting that the engagements he began more than two years ago toward securing Kanu’s release had been intensified. But what impact will this latest visit have on ongoing discussions, and how might it shape political reactions at home?
