We use 3D animation to break down the brutal physics of a Supercharger. How does a belt-driven air compressor add hundreds of horsepower to a V8 engine?
It's actually a parasitic relationship. By bolting directly to the engine's crankshaft, the engine must use its own power to spin the massive Twin-Screw rotors inside the supercharger. A big blower can steal 100 horsepower just to operate! But in exchange, it force-feeds the cylinders with highly compressed oxygen, delivering instant, violent torque the exact second you touch the throttle.
