Trump Can’t Fire the Fed (Yet)

Hours before the big Fed meeting, tried to boot Fed governor Lisa Cook from her seat and the appeals court basically told him, “that’s not how this works.” Cook, the first Black woman to serve on the board, called the move what it was no authority and all politics. Meanwhile Trump got his guy confirmed, so he’ll still have a loyalist at the table when the Fed votes on his dream rate cut. Wall Street’s supposed to fear volatility, but nothing rattles the markets quite like a president playing HR with the central bank.

The same crowd that’s been screaming about “woke mobs” for years is now bragging about getting teachers, firefighters, and even an Apple Store clerk fired for snarking about . is posting screenshots like it’s Fantasy Football for low-wage scalps, while cheers them on like it’s the Super Bowl of spite. Even is vowing to “disinfect” people with sunlight, which is one way to say you’re running a public shaming campaign while pretending you’re fighting cancel culture. The irony writes itself: MAGA spent a decade raging against consequences, then decided revenge firings are the new family values.

He’s furious that the Times called him a “lucky loser,” which is a bold stance from a guy who once sold steaks at Sharper Image. It’s less a legal filing and more a late-night Yelp review written in all caps, but hey—when your campaign platform is revenge, the courtroom becomes just another rally stage.

Trump’s “One-Sided Violence” Spin Hits a Wall

President tried to sell the idea that political violence lives exclusively on “the left,” but CBS’s came armed with receipts. She rattled off the killings of Melissa Hortman, the attack on Paul Pelosi, Gabby Giffords, and even the Pennsylvania governor’s mansion incident, forcing Trump into the classic “I didn’t say that, but I kinda did” retreat. Then doubled down on The Charlie Kirk Show, blurring peaceful protests with violent acts like he was remixing facts into propaganda. The cherry on top was that Trump refused to lower flags for Hortman’s assassination, saying Minnesota’s governor didn’t ask — even though he’d already bragged that calling Gov. Tim Walz would’ve been a “waste of time.” It’s less a strategy than a greatest hits of contradictions, and the remix is getting tired.
