Transparent Film Festival 8 β€” Festival Wrap-Up

Another season is in the books, and what an incredible celebration of independent filmmaking it has been. Here is the final episode of our cable show for the season - the Season 8 Awards Program Live From The Producer's Club.

http://transparentfilmfest.com/transparent-film-festival-8-winners

Transparent Film Festival 8 once again demonstrated that great storytelling knows no borders. This year's Official Selections brought together filmmakers from across the globe, representing an extraordinary range of cultures, languages, perspectives, and artistic voices.

Our 2026 lineup included films from **Argentina, Austria, Brazil, China, France, Georgia, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Ireland, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Portugal, the Republic of Georgia, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, and the United States**, with American filmmakers representing **New York City, Brooklyn, Rochester, Houston, Columbus, Ohio, New Jersey, New Mexico, Pittsburgh, Pasadena, Roscoe, and beyond.**

Whether the stories were deeply personal, socially relevant, experimental, inspiring, humorous, haunting, or impossible to categorize, each filmmaker contributed something unique to this year's festival and reminded us why independent cinema continues to thrive around the world.

Congratulations to every filmmaker who earned Official Selection and every nominee whose work helped make Season 8 one of our strongest editions yet.

Hello Filmmakers, Look above for the running Seat Availability πŸ‘†πŸ»

WINNERS ACCEPTANCE SPEECHES AS PER THE NOMINATIONS EPISODE (SOME OF YOU HAVE MULTIPLE NOMINATIONS) MUST BE RECEIVED BY 5PM MONDAY (TOMORROW).

The Transparent Film Festival 8 Nominations Episode is now available on our website:

[https://www.transparentfilmfestival.com/videos/transparent-film-festival-presents-episode-111-season-8-nominations](https://www.transparentfilmfestival.com/videos/transparent-film-festival-presents-episode-111-season-8-nominations)

We encourage you to watch the episode and congratulate this year's nominees.

Thank you to everyone who responded to our recent attendance inquiry.

As many of you know, a number of filmmakers who originally intended to attend have since informed us that they are unable to do so. This is completely understandable, particularly for filmmakers traveling from overseas.

Accordingly, we are now opening ticket sales and will use the coming week to gauge audience demand before making final decisions regarding the live presentation.

Tickets are available immediately by emailing:

[[email protected]](mailto:[email protected])

We accept Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, PayPal, and other digital payment methods.

As with every year, the reality is that theater rental, staffing, equipment, photography, and custom awards represent significant costs. We will evaluate ticket sales and attendance projections over the next week and make a final determination regarding the scope of the live event on **Monday, June 22 at Noon EST**.

Due to these considerations, the screening schedule has been revised.

Films currently scheduled for screening include:

* Game Start β€” China
* Error 404: Reality Rewrite β€” New York, USA
* N3W S74R7 (Frequencies) β€” France
* I Thought I Was A Monk β€” Columbus, Ohio, USA
* Libre β€” Spain
* Tapped Out β€” New York, USA
* Export Mine: The Dark Entreat β€” Thailand
* Them β€” Ireland
* Footlights & Shadows β€” New York, USA
* You Didn't Say Goodnight β€” Argentina
* Hinterlands β€” Rochester, New York, USA
* Sunshine β€” Brooklyn, New York, USA
* Jubilee β€” Russia
* Turnbuckle β€” Hazlet, New Jersey, USA

In addition, we expect to showcase selected works from several young filmmakers before the Awards Show.

One final reminder regarding awards:

If you are not attending in person and do not have a representative attending on your behalf, you must provide a pre-recorded acceptance speech if you wish to be considered for an award presentation.

This is particularly important for nominees in categories such as:

* Best Director
* Best Actor
* Best Actress

Acceptance speeches should be:

* Maximum 1 minute
* Landscape orientation
* Minimum resolution 1920 x 1080

Simply put, if neither you nor a representative is present, and no acceptance speech has been provided, it is highly unlikely that you will receive an award.

Thank you again for being part of Transparent Film Festival 8.

Sincerely,

Transparent Film Festival 8

Transparent Film Festival Presents Episode 111 - Season 8 Nominations

Hello Filmmakers,

Before we begin, please understand that this is arguably the most important email we send each year.

Accordingly, we are reaching out to filmmakers individually (which is why you may see "FWD" or forwarded references in the subject line). Once this email has been delivered, it becomes your responsibility to stay informed. Further, putting on a festival and awards ceremony is a lot of work each year, and expensive. Accordingly, things are fluid until the tickets are released.

Please add [email protected] to your contacts and follow our page:

https://www.transparentfilmfestival.com/videos/transparent-film-festival-presents-episode-112-season-8-selections-special

We use email and Facebook as our primary communication channels for announcements regarding nominations, screening schedules, ticket availability, awards, and festival-day logistics.

At this stage of the festival, we are no longer able to carry on individual conversations with dozens of filmmakers regarding routine questions that have already been addressed in our emails, FilmFreeway listing, website, or Facebook updates. As we move into final programming, all filmmakers will receive the same information through these centralized channels.

For that reason, it is essential that you monitor both your email and our page regularly. Doing so will ensure that you receive the same updates, deadlines, announcements, and opportunities as every other filmmaker participating in Transparent Film Festival 8.

Every year, a handful of filmmakers miss important updates because our emails are filtered, overlooked, or because they are not following the festival online. Unfortunately, we cannot individually track down dozens of filmmakers around the world once final programming begins.

If you are selected, nominated, attending, sending a representative, purchasing tickets, or expecting updates from us, it is your responsibility to monitor these communication channels.

If you are receiving this email, our records indicate that you have responded and have substantially complied with our requests.

However, before we lock the final screening schedule, nominations, streaming lineup, and awards programming, we are conducting one final compliance review.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO CONFIRM WHETHER OR NOT YOU WILL BE IN ATTENDANCE, HAVE A REPRESENTATIVE IN ATTENDANCE, OR WILL BE UNABLE TO ATTEND, AND ARE UNABLE TO HAVE A REPRESENTATIVE IN ATTENDANCE.

As a reminder, an initial Official Selection email was sent on May 13, 2026.

A second email outlining festival requirements, participation expectations, and the May 26 response deadline was sent on May 20, 2026.

At this point, we are proceeding under the assumption that you have:

Properly labeled your screening file using the exact title of your film.
Provided English subtitles if your film is not in English.
Submitted a file that meets the festival's technical specifications.
Agreed to our online screening and streaming policies.
Submitted the correct screening file.
Submitted a file of sufficient resolution and quality.
Provided a file that can be successfully downloaded and reviewed.
Satisfied all outstanding participation requirements.
The final deadline for corrections, replacements, permissions, and confirmations is Monday, June 8, 2026 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time.

If, during final review, we discover that any of the above assumptions are incorrect, we regret that we may be unable to screen your film, include it in nominations consideration, or maintain its Official Selection status.

At this stage, the programming process is moving forward and screening schedules are being finalized. Unfortunately, we no longer have sufficient time to resolve technical, formatting, permissions, subtitle, or delivery issues after the deadline has passed.

Because our theatrical venue is limited to approximately four hours of programming, not every selected film can be screened live. Preference for live screening is generally given to nominated films whose filmmakers (or designated representatives) will be attending the festival in person.

This is particularly true for films receiving nominations in major categories such as:

Best Director
Best Actor
Best Actress
While attendance is not required to maintain Official Selection status, filmmaker participation plays an important role in final live-screening decisions, awards presentation, audience engagement, and overall festival programming.

Good luck to all filmmakers.

Sincerely,
