Hachette Book Group, and came together for our annual Read Ahead Holiday Wrapping Party, where Hachette employees, Read Ahead staffers, and volunteers wrapped books for students across New York City public schools. 📚💙

The evening highlighted Read Ahead’s vital work supporting young students and readers through mentorship and reinforced the mission behind Raising Readers, Hachette’s global social impact initiative encouraging families, educators, and guardians to read with children for fun for just 10 minutes a day.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this night meaningful and joyful for the students we serve! ☺️📚🎁

People exclusively announces Little, Brown Books for Young Readers plans to publish Deluxe Collector’s Editions of the remaining TWILIGHT SAGA titles NEW MOON, ECLIPSE, BREAKING DAWN, & MIDNIGHT SUN.

The Twilight saga is getting all-new deluxe collector's editions to celebrate the series' 20th anniversary. Each edition will feature a floral motif, meant to represent a central theme in the book, plus interactive glided page edges.

Publisher Hachette Pledges $200,000 to Help Combat Decline in Kids Reading

Hachette Book Group and Hachette UK announced on Tuesday, Dec. 9 that they will invest $200,000 into its Raising Readers campaign that will help fund libraries for schools and help mobilize volunteers to deliver reading or literacy support.

Hachette Book Group is proud to mark the 200th Anniversary of Hachette Livre with a major new investment in our Raising Readers campaign — a $200,000 fund dedicated to expanding access to books and supporting literacy nationwide.

This fund will help us provide:
📚 Curated classroom libraries to 200 underfunded schools and education programs
🤝 200 volunteer mobilizations for reading and literacy support
🏘️ 200 Little Free Libraries launched in confirmed book deserts
🎤 200 author classroom visits reaching more than 10,000 students

These initiatives build on the urgent work of Raising Readers — our social impact campaign designed to counter the steep decline in children’s reading for pleasure, the strongest predictor of future success.

We’re grateful to the 23 partner organizations joining us in this effort, from PEN America and the National Book Foundation to We Need Diverse Books, Read Ahead, and many others working to make books more accessible for every child.

As CEO David Shelley shared, investing deeply in Raising Readers is the most meaningful way to honor 200 years of publishing and storytelling; and to build a stronger reading culture for generations to come.
