Here at Carl Fischer, we are proud to publish music that helps educators and students shine.✨ We were ecstatic to receive the following note from orchestra director Marjorie Spagnuolo from Massapequa, NY. Here's what she had to say about Eric B. Davis' "Chimera":
Dear Carl Fischer,
My students and I are having a wonderful time working on Chimera. This piece is exactly what we needed this year! There is something interesting and challenging in all parts. Chimera has driving rhythms that are unified, call and response sections and really fun parts that are woven around each other. Students are excited to play out! My bass players are so happy to have a juicy bass line. Eric Davis does a wonderful job incorporating fingerings that make sense. The students and I love how his passages re-enforce shifting and confidence in positions. I'm a fan of dotted rhythms and syncopation, both of which are utilized in this work. Chimera incorporates plenty of teachable topics. I’m looking forward to more works by this composer.
Thank you for supporting modern educational composers.
Sincerely,
Marjorie Spagnuolo
