Travelin' Home (CM9633) arr. Andrea Ramsey

Andrea Ramsay’s arrangement of “Travelin’ Home” is food for the soul. Inspired by sacred harp tunes "White" and "Long Sought Home," listening to this work is one opportunity to enjoy the tradition of sacred choral music as it flourished in the American South. The plaintive text and tender harmonies make this song not just a work, but an experience.

We at Carl Fischer Music and BriLee Music are deeply saddened by the news of Dr. Patrick Liebergen's sudden passing. Since 1987, we have had the immense privilege of working with Patrick on more than 100 projects, from scholarly critical editions of Renaissance and Baroque works to his arrangements of the classic Christmas favorite "Carol of the Bells", and his beloved "Rise Up In Festive Song", to name a few. Patrick was not only respected in the choral community for his detailed editions and sharp professional mind, but also known and loved for his warmth, leadership, and passion for music education. His enduring legacy remains in the scholarship he created, the music he made, and in the hearts of his colleagues, students, and friends. Our most heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends. There could be no better way to remember him than to listen to his music.

Have you used https://EasyVirtualChoir.com? Super easy, and it is FREE! The software aligns audio/video tracks automatically and will save you lots of editing time. Many users say EVC recreates a live choir experience for singers. It allows each singer to follow the conducting/reference video and peer sound tracks to sing along with. Choir director can evaluate/adjust individual recordings before exporting the final production video. The software has also been widely used for virtual rehearsals by which the choir director can quickly evaluate each singer and provide timely feedback. No need to send files around, everything is done within the app. After everyone finishes singing, the choir video can be created in just a few minutes. The entire process is so intuitive, simple and fast for both choir director and singers, that most k-12 school music teachers have got a video created after just one class period. Hope this free service will be helpful to your choir too!
