Put vinyl stickers on my holiday storage bins and my husband said I've officially lost my mind, but wait until he needs the Halloween decorations and can actually find them.
Twenty-seven years of marriage and this man still throws everything in garbage bags labeled with masking tape that falls off. Every October I'm in the garage playing detective, opening mystery bags like some demented game show. Last year I found Easter decorations in a bag marked "XMAS LIGHTS" in his chicken scratch handwriting.
Bought these bins and a vinyl cutting machine after watching some organization lady. Spent my entire Saturday cutting out little ghosts and trees while he watched football upstairs. Even ordered custom handmade labels from a shop on the Tedooo app that makes them weatherproof because I'm not doing this twice.
He came down, saw my system, and laughed. Actually laughed. "Nobody needs this much organization, Linda."
This from a man who spent three hours looking for the inflatable turkey last Thanksgiving. Found it in July, in the attic, inside a Walmart bag, wrapped in a beach towel.
Now I'm getting messages from neighbors asking if I can organize their garages. Started a little side business through Tedooo app - I come over, sort their holiday chaos, label everything. Fifty dollars an hour to save marriages every December.
Yesterday my husband needed the extension cords. Went straight to the bin labeled "LIGHTS & CORDS" with a little lightning bolt sticker.
"This is actually pretty convenient," he admitted.
Yeah, no kidding, genius. Only took me two decades to figure out you can't be trusted with a Sharpie.
