David Walker, Vice President, ABS, will speak on the “Update- The U.S. Center for Maritime Innovation” at the 2026 Port of the Future Conference, to be held March 24-25, 2026, in Houston, Texas. The Port of the Future Conference is hosted by New Wave Media International.

The US Center for Maritime Innovation is a new national research, development, and demonstration projects supporting maritime innovation in a range of potential subject areas. The scope of interest includes all types of vessels, port/port facility, and other marine transportation issues and covers the diverse issues of interest in different geographical regions of the country.

Mr. Walker is Vice President for Global Government Services at ABS. This responsibility includes ABS work with Government fleets of vessels as well as ABS initiatives/ programs with Government agencies on clean energy in the maritime domain (offshore wind, marine energy, advanced nuclear technology) and decarbonization of maritime operations (vessels, ports, and associated infrastructure).

This year’s event includes nine (9) informative tracks on Port Infrastructure 4.0; Increasing Ports Operational Efficiency; Ensuring U.S. Maritime Security; Developing Ports; Intermodal Connectivity; Decarbonization and Alternate Fuels; Port Energy and Sustainability; Port Security, Cybersecurity, and Emergency Management; Advances in Dredging Technology and Techniques and other relevant topics.
