Loved this wedding!!!

Literally me waving this sickness out of my house 👆🏻
After 5 days with a stomach bug PLAGUING my house and taking me down with it, I am alive and well and finally able to sit at my computer and get work done again! And it’s 50 degrees out!? What a beautiful Tuesday indeed :)

Nothing can stop them…

For a couple who had to change their plan due to a global pandemic, they certainly made the most of it. They switched from an in-person ceremony to an NYC elopement streaming their ceremony & had a blast just enjoying each other.

Just look at these two!

Super intimate & all about each other- just like it should be.

Not only were they so in love with each other but they just had so much fun.

Bride on a streetcar? Always.

I loved capturing Kate & Jimmy on their big day. Not only were they absolutely, stunningly in love, but they had some of the funnest friends I have had the pleasure to shoot.

From shots with the groomsmen, dance parties with the bridesmaids & the incredible live music at the reception that had EVERYONE on their feet- this couple knew how to celebrate. This was such a fun, adventurous wedding and I loved every second being a part of it.

Instead of featuring one of the absolutely incredible couples we have worked with this year as a New Jersey wedding videographer, today, I get to share one of my own!

On August 4th, 2021 at 12:03pm, born at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston New Jersey, we welcomed Parker Lee Murphy into the world. Coming into the world at 8lbs and 11 ounces (21′ long!), get ready to meet the newest love of my life and incredibly exciting addition to the Murphy family.

Thank you to to – the New Jersey photographer behind these incredible newborn photos.

The last few years have gone by in what feels like minutes. I can’t even begin to tell you how grateful I am for these humans.

For a couple who had been together for over 10 years before they got married, Chelsea & Jeremia still had that newlywed kind of love.

I had the pleasure of working with these two on their wedding video last year with Mile Square Moments shooting photo (these stills are from her gallery).

Like so many couples in 2020, these two had to cancel their large wedding due to Covid and instead opted for a more intimate micro wedding on Long Beach Island.

What makes it even more special is that they exchanged their vows in the exact spot that Jeremia proposed.

Our Story

WELCOME TO MURPHY STUDIOS!

I’m Alan Murphy, the videographer and photographer behind Murphy Studios. I document the big bold moments in a couple’s life all across the northeast US, from New York City to Washington D.C.

MY STORY

At 18, I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in search of adventure. And I got it. Immediately, the Navy had me jumping out of helicopters and plunging into icy cold waters to save lives as a rescue swimmer.

After returning from my second nine-month deployment, I had no photos to show for all those transformative moments and breathtaking views of Bahrain, U.A.E., and Italy from inside the helicopter cabin. So, I decided to buy my first camera to start documenting life as I saw it, with all the people, details, and adventures I found along the way.

Photography soon became my creative outlet, especially when I got out of the Navy and needed it most. I fell in love with the entire process from getting to know the couples to editing the images.

Now, at Murphy Studios, I film weddings and photograph everything, including engagements, anniversaries, military homecomings, families, professional headshots and events. My aim is to capture a moment or spontaneous conversation in order to tell your story for years to come.

MY PASSIONS

FAMILY

I’m that dad, yep, the one following around their child with a giant camera. Seriously, I’m recording whether my son is taking his first steps or just laughing at the silly faces my wife and I make at him over breakfast. We spend our weekends hiking (with him on my back) the Appalachian Trail or taking it easy on Long Beach Island. Life with the two of them is always something new, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

TRAVEL

Travel has always been a part of my life. Growing up as a second-generation immigrant, my summers were spent visiting family back in South Africa and touring Europe as a member of my church’s choir. These trips gave me a certain cultural perspective that grounded me in life and gave me an understanding of the voices of those around me. That’s why I’m always up for a destination wedding or photoshoot.

VETERANS

Veteran advocacy is my absolute mission in life. I’m here to to give a voice to veterans in every capacity, and I have several avenues to help me achieve that goal: my job at Success Academy Charter Schools as part of the Military Veteran Initiative; volunteering with amazing organizations like Team Rubicon and The Mission Continues; photographing veterans for my Veteran Portrait Project; photographing the families of active duty military with homecoming portrait sessions, and interviewing veterans for the podcast Barack Stories.
