A special moment happened last week as Nelson County VA’s native son Jonathan Page (CEO of Coleman Page publishing) came home to present a documentary on composer, teacher and choir director Othello Wilson. No one could have predicted the large turnout of people from different walks of life coming together to learn more about Dr. Wilson and the history of the area. It was a heartwarming moment that reaffirmed the human connection. Thank you Dr. Erin Freeman and the festival for such a special time.

Happy Birthday to composer and recent Yale MM graduate, Brittney Benton, who continues to forge her path within the industry, including recently winning the Juventus Call for Scores competition and receiving a prize in composition in the George Shirley Vocal Competition. This is the Grammy ® winning hornist and composer’s first published work, that is a part of Coleman Page’s Music For Our Time Catalog which aims to showcase today’s vibrant works in chamber music. Hill House was completed to fulfill a commission by The Kayden Music Commissioning Program at The Juilliard School Pre-College. The link contains more information about the work and the composer.
