How to Win Rock Paper Scissors ✂️ The Madman Theory and escaping 🔫 assassins

There are unspoken benefits to being unpredictable, irrational or chaotic. “Never let them know your next move” is essentially a phrase rooted in this understanding.

I recently learned about the Madman Theory after having a call with a future speaker, Dr. James Boys.

Then I came across a chapter in the book I’m reading that was all about Rock Paper Scissors and I began to spiral at all the collections LOL thought I’d share!

Moral of the story? Sometimes being dumb is smart and being smart is dumb. Feigning irrationality is sometimes the more rational move. Predictability can be exploited, so yeah, never let ‘em know your next move! And make your next move your best move!

Make this a tradition for MLK day next year!! I’m telling you, so thought-provoking.. and always ends with hours of inspiring conversation.

Last year, the Lectures on Tap MLK lecture was given by Emmy Award Winning documentary filmmaker Trey Ellis. It was all about his journey documenting the winning film “King in the Wild”.

This year it was given by Prof. Richard Benson and it was all about the little known radical side of MLK.

I learned a lot and was left so inspired! I’m still thinking about how/why we aren’t taught about just how organized and coordinated the civil rights movement really was.

Like for example Rosa Parks didn’t randomly decide to not give up her seat bc her feet hurt that day. 🙄

It was PLANNED that she would do that stunt THAT day. That morning she knew that she would go to jail that day. Very planned, very organized, and they never teach kids the full story about just how genius it all was.

Anyway this was such a fun time w the fam!! Only one missing was !!

Luckily I was able to head to my roof and see a partial eclipse (90%). I was worried that a building would be covering it!
