We KNOW you love our music, and our unique radio format that recreates the original sound of AM Top 40 radio from the 70s & 80s - that's why we're called "MUSICRADIO"- the branding used at WLS Chicago and WABC New York during the Top 40 era -

With HitOldies expanding, being heard now on Live365.com, Weekends on WRMI Radio Miami International - on a 500,000 watt transmitter covering all of North America and the fish at sea, having to cover costs of hosting our website and the infrastructure (computer automation recent upgrade, the power drain and so forth), our expenses exceed $500/month.

With that in mind, would you, our HitOldies Page followers and online listeners & fans please consider a donation to help us remain on the web. We're asking for just $5. Of course, you can give more, or choose your own amount.

This morning on HitOldies -

Just like over-the-air radio stations, HitOldies airs public service and news/information programming. At 9am Eastern Time, its "Issues Today", a 30 minute discussion about issues tailored to the Ansonia & greater Connecticut region.

10am Eastern, we present a one-hour special program directed specifically for my friends in the Ham Radio community - "This Week In Amateur Radio". There's lots happening in the world of communications, and this week's reporters focus on the latest lobbying efforts of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) in asking the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to revamp America's entry-level license, the TECHNICIAN class. There's a report on PHISHING attempts (over the air? You bet!). And, it begins with a set of comprehensive reports from last weekend's Dayton Hamfest.

It's a one-hour show all about radio, technology, regulations and just plain fun information. 10 till 11am Eastern Daylight Time on Hitoldies.net

11am to 1pm features one of our newest personalities, Luke Warm, presents all the BIG hits just as you heard them back in the day! Luke is best known for his days on the air in Albany NY and these days entertains you from his remote studio in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.

At 1pm, it's Bob Gilmore's "Retro Playlist". A great show where Bob highlights an entire decade of songs you're sure to remember!

From 2 until 8pm today, turn us up for the biggest hits from the brightest stars from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s! We have two "mystery" presenters whom we're sure you'll enjoy, as we re-create the sound of Classic Top 40 Radio.... the way you remember it from your youth! No liner cards here! Also, no commercials! Just turn us up and enjoy the music!

At 8pm, it's this week's latest installment of "New York's Best Rock"! If you remember 95.5 WPLJ, the former Album Rock station that was one of the Big Apple's first popular FM stations, you'll really LOVE the variety of Album Rock tracks that have become staples of America's popular music memories! It's presented by a guy who KNOWS the original DEEJAYS from WPLJ and experienced the Album Rock lifestyle in the NYC area first hand! Listen as Matt Craig presents "New York's Best Rock". Tonight at 8pm! And once you put us on your smart speaker, visit Matt's website, Big Apple Airchecks! BAA shows off Matt's enormous collection of recordings of old radio stations, available for trade. Wanna? Go to https://bigappleairchecks.com and see for yourself!

HitOldies is EVERYWHERE! Daylight hours in Connecticut, HitOldies can be heard on 690 AM WADS Ansonia. Sign Off this time of year is 8pm. We're on your phone, your tablet and on the web at https://hitoldies.net (also on https://hitoldies.com ).

HitOldies is on Live 365! Go to https://live365.com and search for HitOldies. Coming soon, HitOldies will launch its new mobile app! We're building it now.... writing code and getting it into the Apple and Google app stores. Coming sometime in June 2025! Meantime, download the generic Live 365 mobile app and crank us up!

And, finally... If you really enjoy the hits and our personalities, or you've been to Airchexx and love the collection built by Steve West (Me!) and Ellis B Feaster's Radio Aircheck Channel, won't you please consider making a donation to help out with our considerable expenses. It costs over $500 each month to present the classic radio airchecks archived at Airchexx.com, and all the BIG Hits we play on HitOldies. Today in Radio History:

Somebody made a recording of this station in Phoenix and all these years later we get to hear what this sounded like. Anyone remember "Party Radio 103-9"?

The station wasn’t around very long – 1997-2000, but it did make it’s mark on the Phoenix market.

Today in Radio History, Part 2:

Since in Part 1, we talked about MG Kelly and referenced KCBQ, I found a pristine recording in our archives from today in 1977. Some might not remember Gerry Peterson, but Mason Dixon is familiar to not only those in San Diego, but New Haven, CT where Dixon was well known on WAVZ.

Courtesy of BigAppleAirchecks. Nearly perfect audio quality on this one. On this aircheck, you’ll hear Gerry Peterson, then Mason Dixon on a very music-intensive KCBQ. Now, KCBQ and KGB had a…

Today in Radio History:

As the description says, this is from a small window of time from after the end of KODJ, until KCBS-FM dropped the Oldies format entirely.

MG "Machine Gun" Kelly is a national syndicated radio host, who is best known for his long running career as a DJ based in Los Angeles. Some of his best work is featured on Airchexx, on such stations as 64 KFI, KCBS-FM, 93 KHJ and even KCBQ San Diego!

Start with this aircheck, then listen to the entire MG Kelly collection, and hear why he is one of the very best jocks of all time!

Its always great to hear the gunner, and this is no exception… but why does your webmaster detect a hint of Dan Ingram sarcasm in Kelly’s delivery? Were it not for this exceptionally or…

My dear wife tells me that internet friends are just fake friends, that immediate FAMILY and REAL people are my friends.

I consider these guys family. Yeah, they're radio broadcasting friends, and they're internet friends... but they are my family. Glad we all got together last weekend!
